Re: Carburetor mounting gaskets
I did swap my gaskets to correct ones too. I mounted a year ago gaskets to my BEA 1987 4wd that were open between both barrels. A week ago, I swapped them to single barrel ones. That swap improved my idle. I have an Euro manual wagon, which has originally gaskets with holes between two separate barr...

1986 Tercel 4wd
Well, I have previously thought not to buy more 4wd Tercels, because I am happy with two of them. However, I have been shopping lately. The result of shopping is a new Tercel 4wd 1986 for me. One reason for that is that both of my 1987 ones have now a really nice paint job and they are not best cand...

Re: 1985 tercel windshield BC Canada
I know a company than can make custom windshields if you cannot find it anywhere else. They do custom windshields for many classic cars.

It is pretty far away but there may be similar shops in your are making custom windshields if these windshields run out one day.

Good job! I am glad that you managed to tackle the misfire.
Adding a catch can sounds a lot nicer job than searching a misfire. So hopefully that will be easier task to complete.

Re: Distributor sitting for years at shop
This distributor could be also in very good shape if it has been sitting just in the shelf for decades. Some of the distributors mounted into cars have been already many decades in the use, which can result into lower lifetime expectations. But you never know before you test.

Re: Wheels Tires and Gear Ratios
Pretty similar to your previous reading. Several factors can incluence your mpg if you check it precisely like driving route, temperature, tire pressures, cargo of your car etc. So I would say that your previous reading 26 mpg and your current reading 25,2 mpg are pretty same if we consider all the ...

Re: ISO Front fenders for 88 T4WD - Canada
These Corolla fenders do not fit. Front of car is so different. You would need some cutting, welding & painting first. So fixing Tercel fenders can save your money and time.
Just look for Tercel fenders. MrWrench is selling such for example:

Re: Turbo 4age tercel
Mechanically the engine is okay (well, not really. theres a bunch of slop in the piston-to-cylinder due to the machine shop fucking up the bore -- not enough to cause piston slap, but more than there should be). I am still leaning towards this being an ecu issue, or a coil pack issue. No, I dont ha...

What part of fender is gone? As an emergency repair you could also install plastic wheel wells if fenders are rot as usual.

Looking forward to that licence plate frame. And by the way, I could buy a spare 1987 grill if you ever come across one.

Re: Carburetor mounting gaskets
That is good to know. Now we have a waterproof explanation why there are several gaskets available. I think that I am running the wrong type for my car but it works fine for me. So it could make a very minor difference but nothing very critical I suppose.

Re: new vacuum advance unit, part # SMP 43898YM
the ports are in a lousy spot as the first gens use an external coil style dizzy. Oh, is the vac advance unit on the top of those distributors? I think I remember seeing that once. The vacuum unit is always on same spot but the vacuum ports can point to another direction, which is not always prefer...
