Re: Aluminum plunger in carburetor
I am using a rebuild kit, but for the life of me I cannot seem to find it in the parts explosion. I also use the Robert Walker YouTube video. It appears in his video at 4 minutes 30 seconds. He just calls it and aluminum piston. It sits next to the accelerator pump towards the barrels... Hope this h...

Aluminum plunger in carburetor
Well, I got around to rebuild my carburetor on my fixer upper. Took it all apart and wow, was it gummed up. Managed to get everything unstuck except for the aluminum plunger that is supposed to just pop out. (Sorry, not sure what it is called...) So I decided to soak the whole carburetor in gasoline...

Re: Seems to stall when climbing hills
So thanks for the advise Chris.... I decided to go back into the carb... watched the you tube video alot. Well upon reassembly I discovered my issue. It was a self inflicted wound. The secondary pickup by the throttle cable assembly had turned 90 degrees. That explains why she had no gusto uphill. H...

Seems to stall when climbing hills
So.... I took the plunge and purchased 3 more. Just got one up and running and seems like it was running fine. New head gasket Petros style, rebuilt carb and the works. Put about 1000 miles on it since but, now it seems like it is starving for fuel or something. I went ahead and cleaned out the carb...

Re: Coolant bubbles
Thanks for all the great advice! Found that my head was warped, machined it myself thank to all the tips. Modified my head gasket. Fired her up this evening, sounds great! No more bubbles in the coolant. Think she is ready to go. Thanks again.

Coolant bubbles
So, there I am. Attempting to ignore the fact that my coolant is bubbling from my head gasket. Replaced everything coolant related. I finally have swallowed that pill and am going to do my head gasket. The question is, do I get my head machined or not. I have no coolant mixing with my oil. Did my ga...
