Re: Erratic Idle - If it Idles at All
Thanks for the responses. Today when I started my Tercel it was idling for long enough that I could check a few things myself. After it warmed up, I drove it around a bit and RPMs would drop way down at stops, but it didn't stall. Nordical25, I'm not sure specifically what the ethanol content was wh...

Stock vs. Weber
Hi All, Are there ANY cons to doing an emissions delete and going with the Weber set up? I live in Maine and it won't matter for registration here. My Tercel was running great last fall when I put it away. Still don't have any idea what has made it go haywire. From everything I've read so far, parts...

HAI Hose
Hi All, I posted a couple of days ago with questions pertaining to my 1985 having major idling issues. The more I dig into what's going on with my carburetor and fuel system, the more little issues I find. Old and cracked hoses (vacuum, PCV, etc.). At this point, I'm starting to wonder if my setup h...

Re: Erratic Idle - If it Idles at All
Thanks for the responses. I've pulled the air filter and it makes no difference. dlb, the problems seem to start as it warms up. Although once warm, the problems seem erratic, it idles fine (and high) upon start. Once it warms up it ususually stalls every time i stop. Then I drive a bit more and I'l...

Erratic Idle - If it Idles at All
Hi All, About two years ago I bought a 1985 T4 with 167k. Last year I replaced the timing belt and front oil seals. After that I adjusted the timing to 10 degrees BTDC. I haven't put a lot of miles on it, but it was the best it has run so far. Very smooth and quiet idle. No problems. Late last fall ...

Re: MR2 Triangle Wheels
Thanks, NWMO. A quick search for which lug nuts are correct for the triangle wheels yielded several forum posts. I went with a 12X1.5 mag specific option that I found on ebay. Has the shoulder and the washer.
Thanks for the advice.

Re: MR2 Triangle Wheels
Is the flat seat style lug what is best on the MR2 wheels? Seems like it would just grind into the alloy. I can see how the shouldered nut makes sense for these wheels, though.
Thanks.

MR2 Triangle Wheels
Hi, I have a question for those running MR2 triangle wheels. This is probably a silly question, but I just want to be sure. I just got a set and mounted them. I was a little surprised when putting them on how little of my stock stud was exposed. I have no reason to believe that I don't have stock st...

Re: Inclinometer Wiring - SOLVED
As I suspected, all of the wiring was correct. Turns out the illumination bulb wiring was faulty. Bad ground. I had a feeling it was that, but I really didn't want to mess with the factory wiring. However, a quick cut and splice to ground and I'm all set!
Now for reassembly!

Inclinometer Wiring - SOLVED
Hi All, I'd like to start off by saying thanks to dlb for the inclinometer installation pictorial and clear instructions. Very helpful! I finally found an inclinometer and have it about 90% installed. I've checked the color coding on my wiring about 10 times and it checks out every time. However, wh...

WANTED: 14" MR2 Rims
I'm looking for a set of 4 MR2 alloy rims to replace my steel 14" Honda rims. Anybody have a set sitting around that need a new home? I'm in the Northeast and would rather not have to ship them far.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Rims
Thanks for the input. I have 14" wheels now, and I thinK I'd like to stick with them. I like the look fo the MR2 wheels.
If anyone has any leads on some in the NorthEast, please let me know. I'll also post looking for some.

Rims
I've searched around on the forum and seen lots of opinions on going bigger with wheels. What if I want to stay close to standard? I currently have what I've been told are Honda 14" wheels. But my hubcaps don't fit. I'm not looking to oversize my tires. In fact I'm interested in what is most ef...

Re: Oil Pressure Testing
I'll pop the top cover and check to make sure my timing belt is correct before I pull out the timing light. My mileage seems to be okay, although I have no reference point since I haven't really driven the car much yet. It seems to me it is around 27 mpg.
Thanks for the help.

Re: Oil Pressure Testing
Thanks for the information! I'll definitely test the oil pressure soon. Rocker arm noise aside, my Tercel hasn't been running very well since i replaced the timing belt this summer. I'm pretty sure I didn't somehow jump a tooth, but it's not outside the realm of possibility. It could also very well ...
