INT / intermittent wipers?
Mine doesn't work and would be nice if it did, but I don't understand how it should work. Searching didn't get me enough info.

Re: Much better
Yeah! When you don't have A/C, the condenser area is a good spot! Fits nicely and can build a frame straight between the bumper mounts/subframe.

Much better
I rebuilt the carburetor. Got lazy when I first got it and didn't give it a proper cleaning. It sat for a while, gas went bad, varnished and was dirty. So, I gave it a deep cleaning while I rebuilt it. Also had to replace the pump. Added a proper filter too. Then I sorted out the vacuum lines. Forgo...

Re: Last of my woes
Thanks! I just kept working on it until I got things sorted out. When I got the cars, they sat for years with untreated gas left in them, so the carb needed cleaning. I actually figured out the 'dieseling' part; since the temp. sensor wasn't turning on the fan, I wired it to a switch and found if I ...

Front mounted winches?
I would like to see peoples front-mounted winch set-ups. I have a small one I would like to have on mine, but want to see how others have done so. Sure looks like I would need to remove the front bumper, make and attach a 'frame' going to the front subframes, as I didn't see anywhere else and the bu...

Last of my woes
Well, I got the majority of the problems fixed, but a few still left. Generally, it is running fine, but would still like to sort out a few of the problems. Probably the biggest problem that was causing most of the trouble was the vacuum-operated 'choke opener' (not to be confused with the breaker)....

Re: Throttle/choke jam-up
I meant that they are both 4wd wagons, but the parts car was an 87 'base' model and my car is an 86 SR5.

Re: Throttle/choke jam-up
Well, I re-assembled that part and adjusted the choke and it is all good now. Also helped to plug the vacuum line going to the air cleaner while it is off.

Re: Throttle/choke jam-up
Sorry, tight space for taking a photo.
The throttle's red pin jams up at the yellow sides of that choke cam when it or the throttle are moved enough.
Move the choke far, it gets stuck closed. Move the throttle far, the choke gets stuck open.

Throttle/choke jam-up
First of all, when I got my '86 SR5, it had no carb, so I used one off an '87 base model. The problem I'm having is difficulty with idling when cold. Checking the carb over, I notice the choke valve was stuck open. Upon investigating, I found a pin jamming up on the choke cam(pictured). It can get s...

Re: Possible missing choke-throttle part?
Figured out the problem. The old gas even clogged up the caps - both of them! Cleaned one out and no more vacuum in the tank. Runs so much better now!

Re: Possible missing choke-throttle part?
I figured it out. It is all okay. The parts were just not yet touching, but seen it in operation today. That and the continued problems are likely more gunk.

Re: My new winter wagon
Trust me, it is, the photo just doesn't show it. Mind you, I did cover it all with both black oil and undercoating to hold it off until next summer. Also, the front fenders had been previously replaced and I painted them blue to match.
It is still CONSIDERABLY better than the other one.
