Re: Asa’s Sunshine Wagon - 1984 Tercel SR5
Yak, The paint possibly looks better in pictures than it does in real life. There is some sun damage. The car handles great, it's very tight and responsive. However, this is coming from the point of worn bushings and bad shocks, so anything would be an improvement. I think the bulk of the improvemen...

Make your own thread for this dumbass argument. I literally don’t give a shit, and couldn’t care less if you’re reputable members here, take your ego stroking back and forth to somewhere it belongs.

Re: Asa’s Sunshine Wagon - 1984 Tercel SR5
Your wagon looks great and the blue is quite rare to see without fading and peeling. If you paint your faded door trims with black paint it really lifts the car. Tom uses a small roller. I mask mine off and use a satin black rattlecan. That’s on the list, and thanks for the info Arch. To the guys c...

Re: Asa’s Sunshine Wagon - 1984 Tercel SR5
Got the work completed yesterday morning. Love the amount of lift, looks like it should have from factory. Comprehensive list of work: (all brand new unless specified) Front: - Springs - Shocks - Strut mounts - Ball joints - Control arm bushings - Sway bar end bushings/collar/hardware - Sway bar mou...

Re: Asa’s Sunshine Wagon - 1984 Tercel SR5
Completed the rear lift today while waiting on front studs and wheel bearings. Rear was a breeze. Going to try it without rear sway bar since “they” say that actually improves handling. If not I can always add it back. So far none of the 4 shocks were good. I realize not the best pics since he front...

Eccentric Alignment Bushings - Left vs Right?
I’m currently deep in my Tercel suspension redo, replacing wheel bearings tonight. In my haste, I lost track of which eccentric bushings (for camber alignment) came out of which steering knuckle, left vs right. They are mirrors of each other. Does anyone know which is which? A picture of one in a st...

Re: Cv axles question
Freshly remanufactured axles from CVJ Axles in Denver. $94 each. Price dropped somewhere in there from the original quote of $104. Workmanship looks excellent, took less than a day. For some reason, I like the idea of having the original axles in there that came with the vehicle. For most cars they ...

Re: Cv axles question
Just today I took my original OEM axles to CVJ Axles in Denver to get remanufactured. Not cheap at $104 per axle, but I like the old school vibe and their story/history. Also love supporting shops that are still out there repairing stuff instead of replacing. Will report back, but I assume the true ...

Re: Asa’s Sunshine Wagon - 1984 Tercel SR5
Thanks Petros. Ended up making some. Pretty productive after work tonight. Got the strut assemblies together with the brand spanking new shocks, springs, seats, mounts, and boots. Used Abra Cadaver’s guide. In his thread he mentioned zip tying the boots to the bump stop. He must not have read the di...

Re: Asa’s Sunshine Wagon - 1984 Tercel SR5
Awesome info. I appreciate it. I paused that aspect of the build and glad I did. Currently rebuilding the strut assembly with new springs and shocks. One question... the rubber washer between the seat and the shock (maybe 2” OD and 0.5” ID?) was completely disentagrated. Abra’s thread said to reuse ...

Re: Asa’s Sunshine Wagon - 1984 Tercel SR5
Great info, I appreciate it. Right after I made that last post my OEM order showed up. Wish I hadn’t ordered the retainers, washers, and nuts (mine were fine), but hey I ordered it a week ago before I tore into the car so that’s what I get for believing what I read on the internet. But since I have ...
