You're welcome Chris! Now I just need to figure out why timing does not change when I remove and plug the advances vacuum lines...

What am I doing wrong if I have a functioning vacuum advance but I get no change in timing with any of its vacuum lines removed? Does this mean I have the hoses hooked to the wrong locations on the carb?

Chris, I found a functional 3 port vacuum advance on a distributor in much better condition than my distributor. Mine had stuck centrifugal weights and a lot of play in the main shaft, I was able to push the rotor left and right about 4mm. The distributor I found came from a 1986 automatic 4wd terce...

I just tried to overhaul my carburetor and found no obvious issues besides the vacuum line going to the auxiliary pump was full of fuel. I've been away from mechanical things for a while and cannot figure this out. Anyone had this problem? What do we do to take care of it besides capping it off?

Not sure how long it's been in there but there's a 1986 automatic 4wd tercel in the wrecking yard on Vilas road, B&R auto wrecking in medford oregon. They pulled its engine and transmission, a lot of good stuffs still on it. Driver window regulator is gone, I got the distributor.

Sorry for taking so long. This weekend, maybe as early as Friday, I will be able to pull a drum and have a look. My carb rebuild kit just arrived, it's been almost 10 years since doing this, and there's way more parts than I remember

Somehow those look different than what's in my wagon. The narrow part that touches the star wheel I'm pretty sure should be longer than pictured, and I don't remember them being connected to the brake cable portion. It's been a while since I've seen the inside of the drum brakes. I am trying to make...

Duragauge, please could you stop by there and pull some parts from those wagons for me? I need the brake adjuster levers that touch the star wheels inside the rear drums. I'll pay for them and your time and shipping too!
