Re: Hornbeam is on YouTube!

There's a thread somewhere detailing the swap with pictures. Do a search. The TBI is from a 1989-1991 Suzuki Swift SOHC 1.3L 4-cylinder. Ideal because they also had mechanic advance distributors like the 3A. Anything newer would require locking the 3A dizzy and living with the timing curve of a 1.3L...

Re: Awwwww........Its a Justy!!

Old thread, but I had to reply to keep the info about small 4WD cars accurate! The Justy sold in the US/NA with the 1.2L 3-cyl was a Subaru design with no Suzuki parts. But in Europe, the Justy was ] a rebadged AWD Suzuki Swift with a 1.3L 4-cyl engine. I'd love to smuggle one over here, stick the 1...

I bypassed my stupid EGR, and i still pass emissions testing. that heat riser just cooks all the vacuum lines and various valves and renders them useless anyways. In some places (like NY) emissions testing is only a visual inspection of the equipment. What actually comes out of the tailpipe apparen...

Just as a side note question... did the newer model tercel come with the E engine? Yeah, the carbureted 3E was used on the '87-'90 Tercels (excluding the Wagons, which all had 3A engines). And in '91, the EFI 3E-E replaced the 3E in the Tercel. I'm not sure of the exact year, but the last of the Te...

That's worn-out brushes, in my experience. You can probably replace them on the car in a Tercel. I'd just get some from a junkyard or spare alternator. Any 80s or 90s Denso alternator should have the same brushes. The brushes live under the steel end cover, which comes off once you remove the 3 8mm ...

I've always thought the 4AFE would be a great swap. :D

If you need any parts, I have a complete 4AFE just sitting on the ground. And a '90 Corolla a few feet away from it.

Here's my 3A-C cat auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&viewitem=&item=330144109765 It's hard to find the exact value of them. I just start them all at $9.99. I think the BMW and Mercedes cats are worth the most, around $200 each. Aftermarket cats are worth $10-$...

If you're replacing your cat, stick the old one on eBay. They're worth about $140 in scrap platinum.
I sold a pair of Tercel cats for $285.

Nice! I've always loved the look of those. Too bad they're FWD. I have a '90 and '91 'Rolla in my driveway, but they're a sedan and wagon. Both 4A-FE and automatic. The un-fun AE92.... :? I like the black Civic next to it too. Hell, I love all Japanese pocket rockets. :D Is that your MR2 hiding in t...
