WTS: Project Mr2 pair 4AGE AW11 1985 1986

For sale: first generation AW11 toyota mr2 project car pair. $1000 OBO In 2013 I purchased the 1986 mr2 as a running, driving car. A coworker of mine was supposed to do the body work on it and paint it, in trade for an ae86. He replaced the quarter panels on it, drove it until he blew up the engine,...

Re: My new truck with less than 1% plastic

IIRC FE/FT blocks are interchangeable, with minor internal work. Heads/intakes and maybe exhaust manifolds are not. The exhaust crossover is in a different spot. Distributor can swap but needs the FT drive gear OR a bronze bushing in the block. Crank snout is very large, so I assume the timing gear/...

That big ol' thing looks good! What engine is in it? I have a '72 f100 with the 360FE, Many of the f500+ had the HD version, the FT series, and a lot interchanges. If you want to compare Tune Up notes, let me know, I have worked mine up from 8 MPG to 13.3

Re: Fixing Up Jenny

The metal has been stretched, and will need to be shrunk to be tight again. See if there is a 'paintless dent repair' person in your are, or do it yourself. A shrinking disk on an angle grinder as well as a body hammer set will work, but will likely need to repaint.

Re: Hi blow by

Do you remember what brand the pistons were? I once got a set of Rock brand 4ag pistons I returned because i was uncomfortable with how porous they looked. Pistons could also melt from a over lean condition or even super hot coolant steam. I have a 4ac head with a 1/4" deep by 3/8" wide tr...

Re: new member introduction

Tom, The Nash sort of fell into my lap. I have always liked the oddballs, and wanted a early to mid-'50s car. I saw this for sale at a gas station for $1600 and had to have it. It was running/driving for the 17 year old owner, although not very well/safely. My fathers first car was a early '60s amba...

new member introduction

Hi guys, my name is John and I live in Virginia. I am married and have a toddler. I technically work as a mechanic at an estate but really serve as a do-all handi man. I am a big fan of '80s Toyota cars and the A series engines. My second car was a tercel sr5 wagon, long gone, and I am currently wor...

Re: blow back

It could still be the flasher. Many cars have 2 separate flasher for blinkers and hazards. Many of the A series engines tend to get carbon stuck oil rings. As others have said seafoam is a great start. Atf is also a really good detergent that you can add to the oil or fog into the intake. I like it ...
