Re: Rear shock absorbers wearing out unusually fast

Hi Toyotise. I have had the Ma700s on my Corolla Alltrac (same rear end as the Tercel) for over 30,000 kms and just made sure the valves wouldn't foul anything and loosly zip tied them up and out of the way over the fuel tank and frame rails. I mounted the valve to the tow hitch. how about you?

Re: Gambler SR5 - Introduction & mystery part

The doors look fixable and a lot of the dent on the rear quarter could possibly be carefully pushed out from the inside. You could possibly fix it for that price including paint in Australia. I'm not sure about the US.

Re: Gambler SR5 - Introduction & mystery part

Such a pity with your car looking really straight. But for $2,000 I'm sure you could find a good backyard panel beater and look for a couple of secondhand doors to get in back in shape (they look salvagable tbh). Glad your back on the road. Have you touched up the scratches with primer?

Re: Gambler SR5 - Introduction & mystery part

Thats annoying! How much are they willing to pay you out for it? You can often negoetiate to have the car left. with you once you get payed out. Although you will have to salvage title it With the money you recieve you could probably get it fixed at a non insurance company shop. Don't take the insur...

Re: Tracing Tercel Tests

That is so bizzare! A JDM right hand drive Carib in the USA and not even a SR5/ AV11

I saw a lot of these 'lifestyle camping' type magazines in Japan, all about accessories!

I do like the girls hat where she is dressed in glad bags haha.

Thanks mate!

Re: Rims

thin, taller tyres are better for economy but also look at the tyre brand, pressure and tread pattern for the terrain you have. I'm not sure about the hubcaps. are they just plastic pep boys press on? why not have a look for a set of lightweight Miata alloys they will be more efficient and look bett...

Re: WHAT TOYOTA ANYWHERE COULD HAVE DONE DIFFERENTLY...

Mounted engine the same way as on Corolla AE80-82 or done as option While I agree it would have made things a lot easier, the tercel was their first fwd platform, and they had reasons to mount it longitudinally. It greatly reduced torque steer, and the weight distribution helped make the car handle...

Re: Tracing Tercel Tests

the Tercel4wd would be an ideal car for the northern European market, 4wd and economical, and a suitable size for the city streets. very unlike the behemoth beasts they sell as 4wd in North America, and pretty much today as well. I mean there are no small economy 4wd/AWD cars available for the USDM...

I have a 4ac up in north Washington, but I go down south on occasion and could bring it down with me. Gotta keep these things on the road, and I really don't need a spare 4a.
So good of you J. That offer is what makes this forum worthwhile.

Re: New to group! 1996 Toyota sprinter Carib 4wd ??

Hi Timmeh, The sprinter Carib name was used over a few models from AL25 through AE95 and AE101 series with the last two having the centre diff lock. You probably have an AE95 and the design was totally different to the AL25 (the AL25 has no centre diff and north / south engine). We have a big group ...
