Re: 1983 Tercel SR5 for sale...
I've known the owner of this Tercel for a few years and he has given me the title to his car. Currently I have 2 tercels and I told him that I only want it for the parts. However, upon getting the car, I felt that it would be a waste to strip this car down and send it to the scrap yard. To me, it's ...

Re: Stuck Axle Removal with my contraption.
Haha Dlb, I tried the "cave man" approach as well. It unfortunately did not work. After a while, I realized that I needed a good puller.

Stuck Axle Removal with my contraption.
Well, after buying a CHEAP axle, I realized that the axle got stuck during installation and I could not pull it out. So, I started the process of finding ways to remove it. - Tried the pry method. Using many different angled pry bars. It's still stuck....but no damage to the transmission housing. - ...

Re: Inheriting an 85, bad idea for first kid's car?
Trunk Monkey, I have a similar situation to yours....I have an 85 Tercel with 280K miles. My 19 year old son wanted to learn stick and he had the hardest time learning it on an Acura Legend 6 speed. When I gave him the Tercel, it was much easier and not nearly as powerful as the Legend. He likes dri...

Re: Installing Motor Mounts - Do Not Use My Method......
Thanks Petros.
What about the bolt on the driver's side - the top bolt (17mm). I have aircondtioning. So, do I need to remove the AC bolts or is access tight but doable without loosening the AC?

Re: Installing Motor Mounts - Do Not Use My Method......
I'm looking to do my engine mounts shortly. Could someone who has done this explain an easy way to remove the two mounts? I thinking of slightly lifting the engine by way of the two engine hooks. But, do I need to loosen/remove some parts before hand? I have an overhead beam that I can lift the engi...

Re: starter makes loud whining noise
I have the same symptoms....but it only happened after I changed all the belts on my Tercel. So, I'm assuming the belts might be too tight and causing the screeching sound. But it's only for a short second and all's fine. So I'll live with it.

Looking for Ivory/Beige/Creme sunroof & Antenna support
My sunroof is in really bad shape. Does anyone have an Ivory/beige/creme sunroof that they want to sell?
Also, but not so important is, my antenna rubber support unit is ripped. Anyone have any?
Thanks.

10 degrees and not 5 degrees? I'm trying to make sure I pass emissions in California. Can you confirm it's 5 or 10 degrees for factory?

Setting the Timing
Just a quick question on setting my timing back to 5 degrees BTDC. - I guess I need to mark the pulley and the timing marks with a white paint/ink? - On the distributor side, which vacuum line do I pull out? I believe that are two lines. - On the vacuum line that I pull out, it gets plugged with a &...

Thanks also Petros. Glad you were able to make it work out. Will look further into my situation. Rust is the main issue I have on the sunroof.
