Re: Hic valve

Thanks dlb. I just have and it seems to be okay. Would you know what else could cause stalling at idle?

Has anybody got a HIC valve for sale, please? My Tercel 4WD keeps stalling at idle when the engine is hot

Re: Brake Lines

This may sound obvious, but don't use a plumber's flaring tool to flare the ends of the tube as it will leak.

Re: 4wd manual transmission mount

Cut and welded, or hammered into shape?

I removed the bracket from the old 4wd mount and welded it on top of the 2wd mount.

Re: Air Condiotioner Temp Controller

I checked the FSM. It is called the AC Amplifier. Located below the glove box. I guess you guys on the American Continent wouldn't need one of these right now going by some of your recent posts.

Air Condiotioner Temp Controller

I have the attached air conditioner rpm setting controller in my spare parts kit. Does anybody know where it is located on the Tercel?

Re: 3AC & 4AC Coffee Table

Petros - My wife takes the view that I'm an engineer and I'm allowed to express myself. She thinks it that it's very clever and creative and very good use of recycled material. I also make most of my own furniture out of wood and this is just another piece of furniture.

Re: 3AC & 4AC Coffee Table

The glass top is tinted green. That's probably why it looks a bit green. I have considered putting some plastic plugs on the end of the valve stems. I'm currently looking for something that will fit snugly. I may to to make my own from rubber tubing. Thanks for the suggestion.

Re: 3AC & 4AC Coffee Table

rer233 - Yes, Valves and springs supporting the top and small hose clamps (Jubilee clamps) holding the valve stems at the bottom of the angle irons. At first the missus thought it was going to look bad, especialyy since it was dirty and greasy, but once I had it all cleaned and degreased she was ok ...

Re: 3AC & 4AC Coffee Table

Thank you. None of the parts has been been destroyed. So if I'm desperate I can still retrieve them. I got the missus involved. She picked the paint. The pistons move up and down freely by turning the front pulley by hand. I had to put it on wheels because of the weight.

3AC & 4AC Coffee Table

It's not a V8, but it means a lot more than a V8.

Re: Driving without power steering belt

Mattel, I have a fully reconditioned power steering unit that I was going to install on my Tercel. But I've decided to stay with manual steering. If it will fit your Corolla 4wd, you are welcome to it.

Re: REAR WHEEL BEARINGS $5.44!!

Did you get new retainer rings or are you going to try using the old ones? Normally I grind them off and replace them.
