Re: Air ride suspension?
i know im new here but i will chime in.. they make a special strut bag thats a bag inside bag. You have to mod the strut perches a bit to use them. these replace the coil spring in a mcpherson style suspension. to use them you also need the special cups if you cant make them http://www.ebay.com/itm...

Re: Air ride suspension?
One last question before I return with the build pics on my suspension setup.
Which year rear axle is identical to the 84 sr5? Is it the 80s corolla or the 80s celica supra?
Thanks.

Re: Air ride suspension?
Petros - I wish I would have thought of something like that before I got shop-happy a few days ago and already bought a VIAIR tank and compressor set up. -_- The air ride kind of route I want to go is to completely get rid of all the springs and replace them with bags. In scrapz thread, he had found...

Re: Air ride suspension?
Mattel. How was the ride height difference? Can you run those stand alone without the rear springs or is that too much weight for those to handle? BrownBadger. I started to look through that thread as soon as you posted it. I couldn't see any of the pictures he posted after he did the work to the su...

Air ride suspension?
I am currently thinking of going for a full air ride suspension set up. I have found what seems to be a set of front air ride shocks that are apparently bolt ons but I have never seen a picture of them. They are going for $799 on eBay. The rear bag setup is going to have to be custom I'm sure. I cal...

Weber woes.
Alright guys. I have a small problem. I have the Weber 32/36 on my tercel. I haven't put more than ten miles on the car because of this problem. I called 7 local carb places and no one deals with Weber. I don't know much about carbs but I believe its the accelerator pump arm and the little cam thing...

Re: What kind of oil do you recommend?
I'll pull it apart and take some pictures of the springs tomorrow. No idea how they wear, but two look like they were exposed to extreme heat causing them to distort and break. It was definitely a piece of one of the springs as it was clear to see where the part had broken off from. I'm sure it fell...

Re: What kind of oil do you recommend?
It wasn't a valve spring, it was those springs on the rocker arm assembly. She's running well again after replacing the piston, just have a tiny oil leak from the oil pan gasket. The bottom of the head was scuffed quite a bit from that steel piece, but she's still marching on.

Re: What kind of oil do you recommend?
Well gentlemen, sorry for all the stuff i've been asking. I took the head off today and apparently one of the damn springs on the rocker arm had broken a piece off and fell into the valve and into the cylinder. It was mashing the hell out of the piston and it is completely trashed. I'll try and post...

Re: What kind of oil do you recommend?
Alright guys, one last question. I put the rods and mains back in and I never turned the crank when I was done. The crank was locked up maybe because I over torqued the bearings. I had the mains at 47lbs and the rods at 32lbs. I had to pull the oil pan off and loosen everything just to get the crank...

Re: What kind of oil do you recommend?
Appreciate the replys. I'm not entirely too sure of what oil I'd want to use. I put 10 40 in all of my vehicles, except the motorcycles of course. I just found it really odd that after the engine pull and clean along with the oil change that the bearing went out. Prior to that, I have been driving t...

What kind of oil do you recommend?
What kind of oil do you use in your Terc? I've recently got done with replacing every gasket and seal on my 83 terc. Threw on a weber carb and added oil. I put a 10 40w of full synthetic by Pennzoil I believe it was. Started and ran fine for awhile until I spun a rod bearing. Since then, I'm tore ap...
