Re: Jaguar's Answer To Mercedes Commerial
the sad part about both of those is anyone that has enough money to buy a Mercedes or a jaguar would most likely buy into these ridiculous ads. anyone with common sense, especially someone that's from the country, would shake their head at how stupid someone could be to even consider these ads. thin...

Re: 1986 4x4 6spd $2800 Upper Darby Pa
My father had a retired Toyota tech, that had been working on these tercels since they were new and he owned a few him self, tell him if the tranny is a pint low on oil and it is cold it can destroy the tranny. The transmissions in these cars are tall and have to get the oil all the way up top. Out ...

Re: broken windows
ive replaced the rear hatch window and I believe the one on the side closed to the back is the same thing. it is just held in with a rubber seal. you have to use two or three flat screw drives and work carefully around the window and pry the seal out on inside or outside, be careful not to damage th...

Re: hesitation in acceleration
the hiccup and die at idle could be the tvsv if it only does it at a certain temp. mine would warm up enough to drive away then at a stop light or stop sign if the temp was right it would try to die or actually die. then start up just fine. it only did it sometimes depending on the situation. I repl...

Re: electrical question
yes the load rating is not what is recommended. the battery was free. my dad picked it up at the pull and save and just gave it to me. it holds a charge ok except when it got really cold a couple of weeks ago. I had to charge it up to start the car. but other then that when its not sub zero it start...

Re: Need aftermarket Vacuum Advance *Got it figured out*
I bought the one from rock auto. its listed under the 87' tercel but it worked fine for my 83. all I had to do was plug the port that would normally go to the high altitude compensation. which I don't have on my car. its fairly easy to change too.

electrical question
so I know that you will get a certain about of rpm drop when you load down the alternator. turn on the head lights, heater, etc. my question is that 200 to 300 RPM drop seems excessive. when your idling at 900RPM anyway and now im down to 600 that makes the engine shudder a lot. is this normal? or i...
