Hi folks
Just bought a 1985 manual 4wd with a 1984 3.73 tranny in it. They only drove it in fwd.
So.....cant find the right tranny......would changing the rear end solve this mismatch?
Anyone got one?

I just bought a 85 sr5 6sp manual that has a 83 tranny in it, so it wont work in 4wd. Having a hard time find the transfer case for the 4.1 rear end. So can anyone tell me if I put a rear end in from a 83-4 it would solve my mismatch? If so does anyone have a 3.73 rear end for sale? Rich Sommers Eag...

It just didnt make sense to me that the wheels would turn with the other side on ground.

I understand the manual test however, if I jack up only one side, how can the tires turn?
Dont I have to jack up all four wheels for them to spin free?
I guess there is no way to tell the year/ratios by visual inspection.

I just bought an 88 tercel wagon and it is smoking badly. Is replacing the motor cheaper than rebuilding the current one? The engine is a 3A. Dont know if it is a ff or fr.
