Re: new owner of two tercels!

Score! Not much rust too.

A word of warning, these have a tendency to multiply.

Re: beginner welding advice?

Wanted to add- Last year I added a Lincoln 125 to my arsenal so I could weld anywhere. It's a great machine that is gas ready. Gas regulators can be found on Amazon cheap. A small bottle of argon/co2 would last you a long time. Might not be enough to turn a Minnesota rust bucket in to a roadworthy ...

Re: beginner welding advice?

A little late to the conversation here, just a bit to add. Get the biggest welder you can budget for. If you have an electric clothes dryer or stove near your garage, a 240v machine can be done without calling an electrician. I bought a Lincoln "tombstone" stick welder from a guy who had a hole in ...

Re: Radiator fan adjustments?

I am having the same issues with my 86 dlx. The car runs great drives great. I switched the thermostat and the sensor underneath the rad. But when I’m stopped at a light it warms up until the fan kicks in which is also too late. Did you find a solution ?

Where on the gauge is the fan kicking in ...

Gas tank straps and pickup tube assembly needed

Had to fab a strap during a new tank install and the pickup tubes aren't going to last much longer.

Re: Where is Splatterdog and his FishHawk?!

The car and I are still around. Being just a seasonal T4 user kind of reduced my participation combined with being very busy and a bit burnt out on any non essential net use.

Got the car out fishing on 10 inches of ice the weekend before we got whacked by 2 major weather systems. That ruined lake ...

Re: WTB: rear speaker brackets

Good timing. I can set you up with them and the covers if you want. Wont need them since the right hand mate for the panel under the diesel heater is now part of a theoretical start of the Fishhawk family.

Anyway, trade for an old.style RF corner lens? Or just postage and they're yours.

Finally, a diesel Tercel! Sort of..

The Icehawk just got a major upgrade, a diesel heater! I don't like idling the engine for all the standard reasons, but mostly for noise over fish. It was warm yesterday(30f) and the lowest setting was almost too much with only a t-shirt on. Went boat mount style with a thru hull exhaust port ...

Shifter boot must still be good

Since it was 20 below and the gear shifter still moves.. Not the 4wd lever though, but that's external along with the now solid trans mount. Also a good thing the rust holes in the floor got fixed. Had water up to it in sub zero temps, sounded and felt like ice cubes beneath my feet. Now it sounds ...

Re: Tires for 13 inch wheels

A little bit obsolete size coupled with supply chain issues leaves you with little choice. Maybe narrow your choices and allow us to critique them. Amazon shows 17 RT43's right now, always a solid choice for all season tires.

Re: general winter/snow tire talk

Arctic 12's come with empty stud holes unless ordered with studs. Other winter tires can have the holes there too. Almost all the 12's are made in Germany but are priced competitively. I've sold them to many and everyone loves them. I'm one of my best customers!

If money is no object, get Blizzaks ...

Re: Rims

I think MR2 triangles look perfect on our cars but are absolutely horrible for snow packing. If you play in the snow often, 5 spoke wheels with large windows are best. Have a wood or plastic poking tool also.
