Re: Borozinski's Terc "Tina"

Onward ho!!! Sold my supercharger last night, now I have funds for Tina :D Definitely thinking 4ac for the motor. Only makes sense. Probably gonna do what you said for the Petros, sounds like a good plan. And I have just the freind for the machining work on the motor. As much as I want a stick, winc...

Re: Borozinski's Terc "Tina"

Really I'd be pulling the motor anyways. I wanna clean up the engine bay a lot, take out or reroute uneccasary wires. Probably paint the engine bay black, along with all the door jams. That way I'm free to pick whichever color I choose to repaint. It probably is just a bad valve or seal. Looks like ...

Re: Borozinski's Terc "Tina"

Thanks for all the advice guys. I've been trying to decide which way to go 3AC or 4AC. BUT... just did my compression check, dunh dunh dunh. Numbers are 155, 130, 157, 160. Put a little bit of oil in the bad cylinder and the battery didn't have enouch juice in it. Which really, that was enough for m...

Re: Borozinski's Terc "Tina"

Thanks guys, for all the replies... I feel the love :) I'm sure I'll miss a few questions from you, but I'm only on my phone now and have been busy with other stuff. I will look into finding that intermediate duct, sounds very useful. And yea, wasn't joking about the bullet holes lol. Hahah at the 5...

Re: Borozinski's Terc "Tina"

Once she was home I was able to take a good look her. Not any horrible rust, only one dent that should pop out easily… and all those freaking bullet holes, poor car. Here are some shots of the battle scars. http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc189/borozinski/85%20Toyota%20Tercel%204wd/DD5ED4BD-orig_...

Borozinski's Terc "Tina"

I tried making this post on saturday, but I fat fingered something and it deleted everything! So I took a long break from it. This is how she looked when we rolled up to her abusive home. http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc189/borozinski/85%20Toyota%20Tercel%204wd/6B1CB56E-orig_zpsc64e345d.jpg htt...

Re: seat and upholstery (seat cover) removal

Just thought I'd give my .02. I redid all the cloth interior in my xB with leather. I had the same metal rings that hold the fabric to the seat, I refer to them as hog rings. Anyways, I just put zip ties back in to replace them. I liked doing it that way for a couple reasons. One you can really cinc...

Re: New to the forum

I only have a 80 mile adventure, so not to bad. I had been browsing CL for probably, seriously years for one of these. I was beyond excited to actually find one close to me. I will just be happy to get it home and I'm sure I'll start doing something on it when I get it home. Probably not to much. Oh...

Re: New to the forum

/\

Thanks. Looks like a good forum, from all the research I've done already.

Got one of my work buddies to give the Terc a ride home on his carhauler. Or I should say have a day set to get er. If everything goes as planned, she'll be part of the family this saturday.

Re: New to the forum

@Petros. I am intending to have lots of fun with it! I'm still gonna try and do everything tastefully and take my time with it though. That's the best thing about having this car. Is I don't have to be in a hurry to get it running so I can drive it the next day. So I'll be able to clean a lot of stu...

Re: New to the forum

No worries on the rant, we all have em. Especially through a situation like yours. Definitely understand being frustrated with dishonest people like that. I had asked the guy if there was a story on the "bullet holes". He said, "we were just sitting around the fire and got bored and s...

New to the forum

I just bought my first 4wd Tercel last night. I've been looking for one for A LONG TIME now. I was so excited to finally find one in Arkansas! I'm really looking forward to tearing into it and start wrenching. U got it basically for something to work on in my free time. There will probably be a lot ...
