Re: Barto's Ultimate Adventure Wagon Build-up (Update may 18)
Another member put 17" mini Cooper wheels and and 205 tires. Check out terrorcel in the gallery and projects. I am running 14" Mr2 triangles with 195/70R14 tires, love this set up put them on before I lifted mine, major improvement in handling. Kingsprings may makes shorter springs but the...

Re: Barto's Ultimate Adventure Wagon Build-up (Update may 18)
After reading this whole thread, and needing to replace my suspension, I'm excited to finally get around to doing this. Is there a part number/year for the MR2 front inserts? -mid 80s Camry front springs and hats -front MR2 Inserts -early 90s Pathfinder rear springs (doesn't seem like there is a de...

Re: Toying with an idea...
why not use the tercel transaxle with the 5sfe? If I am not mistaken the S engine was paired with E15X, C5X, and the S5X series transmissions (probably more as well) and the A engine has been paired with the E153 and the C5X's. So the tercel bellhousing (in theory) could bolt to the S engine, and I ...

Re: "The Nomad" my 84 sr5
btw, all 16 valve heads may not do this, I think the early 4age have the same rear to front flow as well. Wow so lots of different choices for the 4age head gaskets, with all the different 4age hybrids out there, I am really surprised there isn't more readily available information on this. I have s...

Re: The truck i should have kept
Helipilot- very nice, hard to beat the capabilities of those old pickups, mine would go anywhere I was brave (or stupid?) enough to take it. You know how to pick your rigs. Petros- wish they still made trucks like that, I picked up a 98 Ford ranger (the Ford that is actually a Mazda) earlier this ye...

The truck i should have kept
29536_102661269778579_6837253_n.jpg Found a throwback pic from 12 years ago. my first Toyota an 81 pick up, long bed, straight axles, 22r block with a 20r head, Holley carb, remanufactured transmission, 33" tires, and zero rust (AZ truck). I miss this truck, kick myself every time I think abou...

I skip the screwdriver part.
I call it a Jesus clip cause that's what you end up saying when it goes flying away , lost one in the rain today actually.

Re: First car 1987 tercel sr5 Calgary
Sweet ride. I like your dust screen on the back hatch, way sleeker then the one on mine. Your pop pop pop seems like cv axles as petros said. If they are bad I would swap them, my tercel had tired cv axles when I got it and I was amazed at the difference when I finally swapped them, plus it will giv...

Re: Another Seattle AL25 member
That sounds like your issue, I had a dizzy that the mechanical advance was broken and wouldn't advance, it did great at lower rpm but would get laggy if you tried to rev it.
Opposite of your problem and symptoms but the same logic. I would be surprised if that wasn't your issue

Re: PLEASE HELP!
Are the ridiculous quotes just for dealing with the rust?
Are there other issues?
Taking it apart for parts is easy enough if you don't have to put it back together
My first instinct is to save it I hate seeing tercels in the graveyard.
But pictures of the rust damage would help.

Re: "The Nomad" my 84 sr5
SamQ actually ran his version three kit for six months under high stress conditions before putting it into production, not the prototyping ability of Toyota or Yamaha but better then most selling kits. sorry if the explanation was a little hard to follow. It would be simpler to explain in person wit...
