Re: 1985 tercel 4wd

No, i would NEVER sell my Tercel!! lol. I LOVE my Tercel. Just sharing it for other Tercel lovers. The wheels are TSW Alpines, 14" with a little lower profile Michelin Pilots, they handle really well on the road, and not too bad on the 4WDing :) I put the wheels on it back in 2001, still using them ...

I used to go to a lot of auctions, I could start just about any Toyota from the 80's with my tercel hatchback key. I never could get my tercel 4wd key to do it, so not sure what the deal is there. But instead of waiting for keys at the auction, I would about 98% of the time, just jump in the car and ...

When I got my first tercel, 2 door hatchback but same engine, I had a radiator problem. I overheated that car about 30 times in 2 months before I finally put in a new radiator and fan switch sensor. Most of the time when I overheated it, it was pegged all the way out on the temp gage. No telling how ...

You have a bad front wheel bearing, probably the right hand side, but it's best to go ahead and replace both of them. I had the exact same problem with mine on 2 different occasions.

I had the same problem with mine about 4 years ago. The original axles had 200K miles on them and started clicking a little bit. I replaced them with remans and they were clicking worse than the originals only after 1K miles. I had them replaced again, same problem after 1K. I tried 5 different sets ...

need a new set of front tercel seats

I am looking for a second set of tercel front seats, the beige colored plad ones that were in the cream colored tercels. Mine are wearing thin and I'd like to keep them original. If anyone knows where I can get some, or if they have some they want to get rid of, please let me know. If worse comes to ...

4WD-ing at the beach

I took my tercel this past week to the outer banks, NC and ran the living piss out of it on the beach. I tell you what, it was a thrill to pass a jeep and a Ford F-350, both stuck in the sand, with my little 86 HP 4 cylinder tercel!!! Not to mention one with 270K miles on it!!! I take it every year ...

My 1985 Tercel 4WD

I bought my 85 tercel 4WD about 6 years ago at an auction for $500. Ran pretty good, but didn't drive worth a crap. Replaced rear end and clutch and it drove good for a few years. Then came the axles, another clutch, transmission replacement, and some other stuff....never had to do any engine work ...
