They came off and the bar ends have almost no bottle-necking! Ended up using a chisel to open up the split in sleeve, pb blaster and a small plumbers wrench to twist it off. Thanks again Tom

Yep that was the issue. the floor jack was keeping the tranny and rear of the engine from dropping all the way down. We took the jack out from under and some extra wiggle got it out. Thanks again

I just joined the T4 world and am going to head up that way depending on the weather tomorrow...so about 50% chance I'll be seeing you all. The car will be sitting it out though.

First of all thank you for the great repair info here...its been spot on and very helpful. I just purchased the tercel that lived in Dewatto mentioned earlier in this thread, and am very excited...However during my first week of Tercel ownership 5th gear went out and now it is time for this rebuilt ...
