Re: Posting for Thilo
Thanks so much Brian for your help !! First picture shows the right front wheel on a boulder and the back wheel is actually about one inch off the ground. Took it into the Forest today and went on a little trail. Ground clearance much better and going forward no issue but I parked it with the nose d...

Re: 14" wheels and rear lift
Thanks for the thumbs up and here are a few more answers: Sway bar is fully functional and in place just like the brake cable retainers. Swar bar (all mounts) and parking brake retainers were only removed for the installation of the Nissan springs. Again 95 and OLDER Springs, don't know how much old...

Most likely your Thermostat is bad.
Don't blow the head gasket with further driving
Good Luck

Re: unhappy with 80w-90 gear oil
I am using Mystic JT-7
It is a 80w-90 non synthetic but has helped this problem with my Tercels
The key is to shift them slowly and gently until they are fully warmed up
Hope this helps

Re: Canada Takes Home A Rust Free '87
On the Thermostat: Nearly everyone is bad on the Tercels and it is not only about a bad heater. It hurts your engine severely to drive with a bad thermostat because it is driven too much without true operating temperature. That causes severe premature wear. We have a beautiful, semi low mileage car ...

Also the rear view mirrors are different even though they look the same. Same goes for the front corner marker light lenses. They are different and so are the openings in the front fenders. Easy way to tell the difference is when the grill gets less square and more slanted on the sides, my guess is ...

Re: Just joined the gang !
Thanks ! Great advice and I am always interested in custom work as long as it is true improvement and does not go too far away from the original purpose of the vehicle. I do Unimogs and Pinzgauers for a living (shop and also local tours with the 6x6) but the Tercel has been the greatest thing to exp...

Just joined the gang !
Saw this site today and also know Brian, the guy who found his old family Tercel. I met him because he was interested in buying my mom's Audi 50 GLS which I still have since she bought it new, We mentioned our love for the Tercels and the first one was given to me by a friend who ran the engine out ...
