Emergency! Must get rid of tercel FAST
Hi,
I was on the freeway towards home in Tennessee from Oklahoma and my timing belt blew up.
I am stranded in shawnee, OK and I am most likely looking at a new vehicle as I need to get home to Tennessee this week.
I just put a transmission and clutch in this car about 2,000 miles ago.

Re: Window and Door Latch Repair
The problem I am having with the drivers window is that it will not go all the way up.
It will go down, and it will go back up again, but it does not make it all the way closed before the knob just starts to turn. I'm sure I can make more sense of what is going on after I open it up, but basically ...

Starter Wiring
HELP!
I replaced my transmission and it works but I forgot how to wire my starter.
there are a total of 4 wires (or ends) that I think need to go to the starter
one of them is obvious because it has a little plastic harness on the starter.
There is on that has a plastic housing that I believe ...

Re: Trying to Replace Transmission!
ok so now I have moved on. got the car down, drove it around the block.
I had to roll start it though because I can't figure out the correct way to hook up the starter.
there are FOUR wires that I believe are meant to go to the starter. Two of them are split from the same plastic harness.

Re: Trying to Replace Transmission!
Ok. So the car is almost entirely put back together and I just have a few final (hopefully) questions, before I try to drive it.
It is entirely possible that I have lost 1 or 2 bolts in the process though I am not sure.
I definitely have 7 bolts that I don't know exactly where they go. I have ...

Re: Trying to Replace Transmission!
So, I have the new transmission into place and a few bolts already in, axles and tie rods in place. I have attached a picture of a rubber gasket I found on the floor of my shop and don't know what it is. if anyone recognizes this or where it might belong please let me know.
there is a chance that it ...

Re: Trying to Replace Transmission!
So far I've gotten a lot of different sounding opinions about which throw out bearing to use, new or old.
any more thoughts on that.
the new one isn't clicking or grinding in a way that seems obviously bad but it is much tighter than the old one, it will turn just fine pretty smoothly but wont ...

Re: Trying to Replace Transmission!
Anyone else have more input on which bearing to use?
so I pull the plate off the back of the bell to remove the input shaft. it seems as though it would be very difficult to get back in after putting the tranny in.
any details on how this is going to go
how to I get the transmission oil in there ...

Re: Trying to Replace Transmission!
I really don't think the clutch lever is going to be a problem, it seemed it fit together all too perfectly. It is literally identical. My old transmission is the same way, I could now easily take the old transmission that I removed from my car and put the clutch lever on the opposite side simply by ...

Re: Trying to Replace Transmission!
I'VE GOTTEN THE OLD TRANSMISSION OUT
NOW THERE IS A NEW ISSUE.
THE NEW TRANNY HAD THE CLUTCH LEVER ON THE OPPOSITE SITE.
OTHER THAN THAT IT IS TOTALLY IDENTICAL
IT APPEARS TO BE DESIGNED TO BE REVERSIBLE
