Re: 1984 Tercel SR5 4WD
No pics, sorry but it is not driveable right now. The transmission was pulled for inspection, but it is in very good condition otherwise. Comes with some newer parts, including the brand new clutch kit.
It would have to be towed.

Re: Carb problem?
Yeah, I changed the filter about 2 months ago, but I'll probably check it again for symptoms, and change it with the Corolla filter. I treat every 3rd tank with STP Gas Treatment. IDK if that helps at all. My guess is, it is the fuel tank because the car always runs much smoother with a full tank ...

Re: Carb problem?
The carb was mucked up, which is starting to make me wonder. I ended up pouring a shot glass worth of Seafoam and I let it sit for a couple of days. But what I don't understand is why is my carb getting mucked up all the time? Is this from it sitting previously? But then I'm thinking that it can't ...

Carb problem?
I've been taking this out on a lot of dirty roads/light 4wd trails lately, and I've noticed that after about 3 - 4 miles of driving on these dirt roads, my carb or throttle starts sticking. Last week this happened as I was coming home from a camping trip. Luckily, I had some Carb Spray and it seemed ...

Re: Mountain Driving
Shoot, I hope I can find the bulb, but it looks like that it does in fact belong to the AC/ECONO button. Now, whenever I press it halfway, the AC just lights up. When it's all the way pressed in, the AC lights up, so no ECONO bulb now :( When/if I can find that stupid bulb, I'll post it in the Parts ...

Re: Mountain Driving
finally found the replacement, but the bulb which was behind the dash wasn't the same one that fell, or broke off when I was taking off the console...So I'm wondering what that lightbulb was from. It was this very small led bulb (even smaller than the 14v) and it had this small, plastic, circular ...

Re: Mountain Driving
As I was pulling off the plate, the bulb with socket fell onto the floor, so it must've been loose or broken. I took the part to Autozone and they didn't have the specific bulb. They said I'd have to go through Toyota. Has anyone had any luck locating this specific bulb? If it fell off with the grey ...

Re: Car died, and now won't start
The leak was coming from the oil pan, right near the plug. I'm surprised I hadn't noticed it earlier. Maybe the previous owner had run over a rock, but the mechanic said that it looked as if they had tried to pull it out/repair it. Bummer he didn't mention it. Anyway, so this guy's going to take off ...

Re: Car died, and now won't start
I degreased the engine and cleaned it and everything. I put some cardboard underneath the engine, and about 3 hours later, it was pretty obvious as to where the leak was coming from. I had changed the oil too about 3 days before, and when I checked the oil levels before washing the engine, I noticed ...

Mountain Driving
The car has been runnin' like a beast, takin' her up to the mountains every other day. Here's a nice pic of her up in Rocky Mountain National Park.

Anyway, glad I finally have her up-and-running...

Re: Car died, and now won't start
Yeah it was the dizzy, which was a few clicks off. The fuel filter was probably the original from '84, so we switched that out as well. The carb was re-adjusted, but now the idle runs too high. It's idling @ around 2000 RPMs. There are two screws on the carb that adjust this -is that correct? One of ...

Re: Car died, and now won't start
Highlander! Thanks for the reply, but I had some guy from Craigslist come and help me out. He pulled the old dizzy out and put the new(er) one in. It was pretty sweet seeing this guy work. Had the old dizzy out and the new one in in about 20 minutes. Readjusted my carb in about 5 minutes. The car ...
