Re: Remove all Emissions Control System?
Here is the epoxied valve
Looking at pictures I took in 2012 to the carb, it had two ports.

Re: Remove all Emissions Control System?
Thanks for your input Petros!
I am frustrated. And seeing how simple the weber setup is, I was hoping I could achieve something similar with the stock carb.
So I guess I'm on the hunt for a "gas filter" and a "HIC" valve

Re: Remove all Emissions Control System?
Getting a gas filter would be great. I can pay via paypal.
Is the HIC obtainable?

Remove all Emissions Control System?
Hi, After a few years trying to get my Tercel to run the best possible (see http://tercel4wd.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=8069 ), I've decided to just remove anything emissions related that can be removed. I'd like to do that by keeping the stock carb, since as much as I would like to, I don't...

Re: awful fuel economy
If the gas filter has been blocked with epoxy there's a bunch of your problems right there! It gives intake manifold to the vacuum advance and the TVSV. Exactly, the vacuum advance is connected to god knows what (I can't recall right now) and the TVSV to again god knows what. And since emissions do...

Re: awful fuel economy
I did check the AAP (I put a new one in 2012), and the "gas filter" is blocked with epoxy.
I will check if the rotor has spring-loaded play.

Re: awful fuel economy
It takes a 20 minutes drive to get it past the middle. Good thing my daily drive is just ~12 minutes each way. It started dieseling, plus the overheating, I suspected the timing was retarded, and it was in dead 0, so I left it around 10. But it continues to overheat and has dieseled at least a coupl...

Re: awful fuel economy
On the webber setup, what are the systems that are left connected? I was away for over a year and found the car in this state. Does 10miles/gallon and runs hot constantly, I'm guessing because the timing advance isn't working correctly with the EC system in that state. I don't really need high altit...

Re: awful fuel economy
Ok, I just called every toyota parts store in town/country.
They don't have any of the stuff (other than hoses) for the emissions control system.
Is there a way to disable it all (its not an issue down here) and leave a simple setup like some of you guys have on the weber?

Bringing this thread bad from the dead :) Can someone please tell me where those two go? I did not find them on the diagrams nor browsing online :( http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/7217/img0915e.jpg And not the circled one, the small diaphragm on the air filter box: http://img706.imageshack.us/img...

Hey Petros!
Any chance you could sell one of those spare distributors?
