Re: FOUND my Favorite Tercel SR5 - Update on stolen vehicle
Thanks, MrWrench. I figured out it was a 30a maxifuse for the radiator fan and a relay for the ignition. Mattel: I like the idea of an immobilizer. Maybe a small explosive device under the dash to remove the lower legs of the next idiot. There are a lot of people in this state I would love to immobi...

Re: FOUND my Favorite Tercel SR5 - Update on stolen vehicle
Looks like the only thing they took from the fuse box was the ignition relay and cover. I got a Echlin AR355 from NAPA and it fired right up! I am so lucky right now, I am going to buy a lottery ticket or something. I thing it looks like a Jack o'lantern on the flatbed. -------- cropped_20221028_195...

FOUND my Favorite Tercel SR5 - Update on stolen vehicle
Two weeks later, they found it and I got it towed home to West Seattle The ignition relay is missing and maybe another one or two. They took the cover to the fuse box and the battery (it didn't fit right anyway) Is there a diagram showing the location of the relays and fuses in the 85 FSM? Or, can s...

Re: Lost my favorite Tercel SR5 in Seattle
If you buy a Tercel wagon someday and there's an idiot light next to the TEMP gauge that comes on at about 60 percent hot, that's my car.

Tires for 13 inch wheels
I used the 175/70R13 Altimax tires years ago and then switched to Altimax RT43 when they were discontinued. The Altimax RT43 in that size has been on back-order at Dontcount Tire for months and Tire Sack says "Special/Closeout, 2 in stock" Is General Tire discontinuing the Altimax RT43 in ...

Re: Cooling system purge on a 96 Corolla
I meant a way to purge air out of the cylinder head. On our cars, a good start is do that thing with removing the hose from the Upward-facing heater core tube and add coolant and let coolant and bubbles overflow from that tube (with the car parked so the top of the heater core tube is lower than the...

Cooling system purge on a 96 Corolla
I am replacing the radiator on my brother's new 1996 Corolla DX. It has a 7AGE engine, but I have no experience on these modern transverse engine setups. I plan to replace the thermostat and coolant too. Is a 180 degree thermostat stock for a 1.8L with automatic transmission and Federal-Canada emiss...

Read ALL, but scroll down a bit.

Parts should arrive around the 30th, so I hope to do this (weather permitting) the first weekend of November.

Removing inner tie rod
Do you just use one wrench to unscrew the inner tie rod end, or do you need to use a second wrench or some other tool to hold the steering rack while unscrewing it? I've seen a few things on the Internet that seem to show that you just unscrew it without the rack being supported and I can't find any...
