Having problem getting my coolant bypass tube to seat and not leak.

I am using an O-ring i found at pepboys and some liquid gasket but that is a get it on the road fix and not a preferred permanent fix.

What is this keyway you speak about? I have never heard that term and I too have a ratle that I thought was water pump but the waterpump checks out OK.

<vent>I have never seen a waterpump setup like this and since it did not match the manual I am not so sure it is stock. The thermostat was located on the lower radiator hose and the water pump when the manual says differently. The water pump has an outlet directly to the upper radiator hose mouting....
