Re: Parting out an '83
I'd like to get at least $50 for the inclinometer. What do you think is a fair price for the rest? It has all the panels and covers.

Parting out an '83
I bought an '83 Tercel with no title and a busted transmission in order to salvage the a/c system and a couple other parts. The rest of the car is in fairly good condition, it only has about 170,000 miles. I am going to send it to the junk yard soon but I wanted to open it up to you guys. If you hav...

Intermittent Valve Noise
I adjusted my valves about 8 thousand miles ago and I am already getting some intermittent valve noise. It's usually after a long trip after the engine cooled down. I am not too concerned. I was just wondering what would make it happen sometimes and not others. Could it be a discrepancy of warm valv...

Re: Adding A/C
Thanks for the replies. Petros, did you have to convert it to r-134? If so, what did that consist of?

Adding A/C
I really need A/C in my car. I can get by ok but my soon to be wife is not as willing to sweat it out. Not to mention sticking a baby in the backseat. My Tercel never had A/C but I am wondering how hard it would be to pull the whole A/C system off a junkyard car and put it on mine? I know that even ...

Re: Inner tie rod ends
If you look on rockauto, every company has 5.35" and 6.30" inner tierod ends. I am wondering if the difference could be for 2wd vs 4wd?

Inner tie rod ends
I am buying inner and outer toe rod ends from rockauto. I see that the outers are different left and right but are the inners? I see one that is 5.37" and one that is 6.30" but they don't specify left or right. Any thoughts? Thanks!
PS This is for a power steering car.

Occasionally Won't Go Into Reverse
Every once in a while, my Tercel won't go into reverse in the parking lot. There is no grinding or anything. I will try to creep forward in first gear but that doesn't really help. It will eventually go in after trying for a minute or so. What do you think this could be about?
Thanks
Thanks

New "High Flow" Thermostat
So when my old thermostat was acting up in my last trip to the mountains I decided it was time for a new one. When I went to O'Reilly's I opted for the Murray Ultra, which is supposedly "high flowing". It was a couple bucks more. Well now my temp runs markedly lower. When cruising, it does...

Welcome to the forum. I am in Denver, but if you find some more folks, I would love to drive over the hills for a meet up.

Re: Intermittently Low Brake Pedal
Yes this is a different issue than before.
I think it was a reman unit.
Yes, the braking power is reduced during those times.
I'm thinking of just replacing the whole thing with a new one. Does anyone have any part numbers for a good new master cylinder?

Intermittently Low Brake Pedal
I was having a problem with my brake master cylinder. It would lose pressure at a stoplight and go to the floor. I replaced it and it seemed fine. But then I noticed that sometimes the pedal is really low and soft and sometimes it feels fine. It doesn't have a correlation to run time or heat. It's j...

Heel Toe and Rev Matching
Lately I have been trying to save my synchros by matching the engine speed to the speed of the upcoming gear. This makes driving so much fun. Especially like going up a hill in fourth and letting the rpms fall to like 2500, keeping your foot on the gas, shifting into neutral, reving the engine sligh...
