Re: Rebuilt carb for sale

I may be interested... my carb is leaking fuel like a seive from diaphragm and other areas, and a bit messed up - someone used woodscrews on it. PM me with price and details if you're still looking to sell it.

Cheers

Re: Side window detached.

FSM has a decent write-up on taking the entire door apart - I was hoping not to have to do that.
I can get at the hardware, but I can't seem to get the window back into the channel - at least without damaging something it seems.

Side window detached.

Does anyone know any trick to getting a door window back together? I finally got around to taking the front passenger door apart, only to find that the window had come free from the clamp on the bottom of the glass- Trying to push it back in seems likely to damage the glass, or the mechanism. I'm tr...

Re: How to Replace a Head Gasket: Petros method

Great write-up! now if only I had this before I started working on mine. I would add a couple notes that I had to check up on - not being a pro at this.. Clean the head really well - on advice from Petros, I stuffed rags and newspapers into the cylinders to prevent head gasket remnants from ending u...

Re: Considering parting 85 4wd SR5

Do not scrap a good T4wd for just a few engine parts! Consider me shamed - I'll keep looking for options.. (watch out for the radiators, several ended up there only because they had bad radiators and blew a head gasket). Why do you think it needs a new head? a failure is pretty rare. What ar...

Re: Considering parting 85 4wd SR5

I've not had much luck finding Tercel 4wds in local yards. If possible I'd like to find a head for the engine - and avoid an engine swap. 2 thoughts - anyone in the seattle area know who a good salvage yard is? I've been to a couple in the Olympia area - and they didn't have much. I haven't yet gone...

Considering parting 85 4wd SR5

So here's the sad story - I adopted a lonely little 85 tercel, gave her a good dry home in my garage, and started to diagnose.... I must have diagnosed too long because I'm finding a lot of things wrong. She needs a new head, a new radiator and probably a new carburator... and that could be just the...

Re: '85 Tercel4wd SR5. only $250 Tinino WA

Bought it - it's in pretty decent shape. A bit of rust, windows are seized, but the interior is in really good shape (for its age of course) I'm tearing into it right now - radiator is shot - and a lot of the lines are pretty old. Cost/benefit, it's looking pretty good. I'd thought about parting it,...
