I put Polk DXi400 4" in the front. They fit perfectly, and they sound excellent. They did need a little breaking in though.
I've still got some older Pioneers in the back, they could probably use an upgrade. But the Polk's really fill out the sound.

These vans are cool. They drive and handle better than you would think once you get used to them. It is kinda hard to access stuff on the engine. But thankfully it is not required very often, these things run forever.

it is not that hard to remove without cutting the gasket, remove the panel on the inside and you loosen the rear window track. It allows enough room to wiggle out the small window. Somebody busted the small glass in the right side rear door of my 85 4wd wagon while attempting to steal my stereo which they destroyed trying to remove.
I am in Auburn, WA, anybody got one locally? Or know a good cheap source online?

i bought the cheapest deck i found at wal-mart (i'm ashamed of myself for shopping there but i admit it). it's a "dual" brand, is a cd player and has 1/8" and USB inputs on the face so you can easily plug in mp3 and ipod devices. it lacks any really detailed EQ-ing possibilities but ...

yeah, the fuel system cleaner helped noticeably. When I got it it would idle real low and sputter at stops sounding like she was gonna stall, but didn't. After a couple bottles of cleaner she purrs nicely at stops now.

Well I guess I've been driving the Tercel 9 months now. The auto tranny loosened up a bit or something? It works great, and will cruise nicely up to 70 mph now. Not sure what was up with it at first? I think she just needed a good hard driving. The only thing I've had to do was replace the thermostat.

Is there any danger in doing the method takza describes in his link. Letting the engine idle in park, and draining the fluid at the radiator?

I recently got an 85 4wd with a 3 speed auto. At first the kickdown didn't seem to work, but improved after driving it relatively hard for a week. Aside from the above issue, is swapping out the halfshafts pretty easy on these?

Mine just clicks slightly on a sharp turn, so they've probably still got quite a few miles left.
