Free to a good home: 3A motor

This came out of my Tercel, but then ended up with Corolla parts, so you will need to swap the oil pan, water pump, and various fittings in order to use on a Tercel again. Has no manifolds. Is a complete and running long block. Free to a good home! It's been taking up space in my garage for a few ye...

Re: I must be crazy

Hey that's a cool buggy. Sounds like a blast. My husband has a home-built Super 7 ('81 Corolla drive train and motor) that he loves to death. Like your buggy, it's a raw driving experience and has manual steering/brakes. Stops on a dime, goes in a blink of the eye. You will have no end of fun in you...

Re: help naming dog

Awww, cute dog! If you decide to not go with Stella, the method described by Petros to change her name does indeed work. Many years ago when I was a kid, we ended up with a rescue dog named Pebbles (as in Flinstones, I assume). We all thought it was a dumb name. So we changed it via the method Petro...

Re: where to buy weatherstripping?

LOL, "legendary" is a good word for it! Where I live, that kind of epic rain is normal. It rains really good over here. I too wish thunder and lightning storms were more common here. I love the sound! One of my favorite Evanescence songs is called "Eternal" because it has a great...

Re: PNW Weather, Rain and Rust

Yes, I can vouch for the brine. They use that stuff in my town, and all over Snoqualmie Pass (so if you ski up there, you will drive through it). First icy day/night we have, the brine comes out for the rest of the winter. Another thing to watch out for in PNW, is moss. It traps moisture against the...

Re: where to buy weatherstripping?

Starburg--if you find anything, I've got a little drip alongside my driver's side door. Let me know what you come up with! I'm also in Washington.. If I find anything, I will make sure to make a post for all to see. I'm sure there are lots of us who need new weatherstripping, by now. My current wea...

Re: where to buy weatherstripping?

Dang, that's what I was afraid of. :-( My current weatherstripping (door/hatch seals) hasn't failed yet, and isn't missing any chunks yet, but I was hoping to be able to find some fresh seals for use later (preferably after a fresh paint job?). I'd like to think I have a few more years' worth of lif...

where to buy weatherstripping?

Does anyone know if it's even still possible to find new weatherstripping for the doors and hatch? I can't seem to find anyone who sells the stuff. Am I hosed, or does anyone know of a source?

Re: What have you done to your wagon lately?

I still need to find me some good leds for the dome, anyone have any suggestions/pictures, or would the straight replacements from the auto parts place work just fine? You can probably find them at O'Rielly's nowadays, but they won't necessarily be the brightest (or might be, it's worth checking). ...

Re: What is the most rare T4WD option/accessory?

Dealer-installed aftermarket cruise is pretty cool. And the fact that it's so clean and well-done, it's really good work. Sure had me fooled! :-)

Re: What is the most rare T4WD option/accessory?

Fascinating! So it's something you could have done after the dealership receives your car, like when you add the 3M Protection Film, spray-on truck bed liner, and "seat protection" spray (aka just Scotch Guard) added to your brand new car today. How cool. (LOL, hubby is going outside to go...

Re: What is the most rare T4WD option/accessory?

Are you sure? All the wiring is factory, no extra wiring harness installed or spliced in. The wires for the unit come right out of the wrapped up Tercel OEM wiring harness. They would have had to untape the whole harness in order to run the wires from the engine bay to the dash unit. Everything is v...
