Ok, I did a compression check and here are the numbers #1-90psi #2-0 #3-0 #4-90......and on 2-3 I mean it wouldn't even move the needle on the gauge! To me this means that the valves are not sealing, correct? (yes I put oil down the spark plug holes) with no effect.

Well that didn't help. Am i right in thinking that if the valve seals are bad that on the compression stroke it would just blow by the failed valve seal up into the valvetrain which would explain all the oil being forced into the intake from the breather? it also has been sipping coolant for a ...

I have an '85 tercel sr5. I have just discovered that the number 3 cylinder is not firing:-(

Thanks for all the responses. The inner/ outer tie rods look/feel good and the ball joints are really tight and look new plus the rubber is very "fresh" appearing. I will get it jacked up again this week and check the rack mounts and swaybar mounts. Wouldn't a bad bearing be making at least a little ...
