Re: I miss my Tercel. :(

David - I sold the Terd to a guy over 3 hours away in Iowa who apparently drove it home with a crunchy gear box, bad right rear wheel bearing, and brake wheel cylinder, bad tie rod, no heat, badly tuned carb, a miss, and a slipping clutch mechanism. Apparently he made it though, I never heard from ...

Re: Station Wagons...

VIVA LA RESISTANCE!

The wagon will never die, it will just hang out patiently making people think it's a crossover for a few years until it becomes the it thing to have again. Look at the huge following the 80's and 90's wagons have now with car guys, maybe they're not as popular as some cars, but ...

I miss my Tercel. :(

I really do.

Howdy all, haven't forgotten about you, or the T4wd, just haven't been able to find another one. I really really miss mine, even being the bucket it was. If it wasn't for my crunchy transmission, I'd probably still have it now. But the Legend I bought with the money from it and ...

Re: Panda Tercel idea.

I like this thread. Let's keep photoshopping silly things onto my car! I like the huge blower through the hood idea. Who's on it?

With or without the police bits?

Re: O'Reillys?

I believe O'Reillys to be the best auto parts store around. It is the only place I will go, unless I don't have a choice. Their prices are always lower then all other parts stores, and I have never had any problems with any of their parts. However, they do sell Moog parts, which are IMO the worst ...

Re: Were there any Tercel 4WD service bulletins, etc?

Old Japanese cars are so endlessly reliable it makes new cars look like crap. My Legends have 154k and 195k (8/10ths of a mile from 196k) miles and the only problems they have are user related.

The one recall I did find on them, well two for the '90 was for the seatbelts and airbags. The front ...

Re: Were there any Tercel 4WD service bulletins, etc?

Even if there where any recalls, they would be expired by now. Dealers usually only warranty things for 15 years ~150k miles. There wasn't so much a recall on the syncros as some better quality ones available through the dealer that you have to pay to have installed.

After a search, the only ...

Re: wheel painting

I just got done painting the BBS rims on my Legend. I was going to paint them back the original gold, but I wanted to test them with white paint to see how they looked. It was a bit easier for me though, as the wheels are 3 piece so I was able to take them apart and paint only what I wanted to paint ...

Re: My '83 is now 4AFE powered!

So what is the 4AFE from? And how does it differ from the 4AGE? Honda engines are so much easier to diagnose, and figure out where they came from. lol

Nice work on the project, get pics!

Re: Panda Tercel idea.

Lots of work painting it all white but it will look sweet. Are you going to do the tremclad job? Bonus points if you add the lights and police logos!

Tremclad? Not sure what that is lol. My plans are to paint it either all black, or this scheme, 4AGE (already sourced), same MR2 rims I had before ...

Panda Tercel idea.

I was thinking last night, this Tercel I'm going to get is in good enough shape to actually fix up and make it look nice, unlike my old DXL. I don't like the color it is (same ugly gold my DXL was) so I thought about black and white. Why not do a "panda" style paint job.

I stole a pic from ...

Not sure what you want to know here? I can tell you from that pic, the dark blue car is a DXL 4wd wagon, the light blue is a SR5 FWD wagon.
