Re: Anatomy of a scam

I'm sorry, you got to be dumb as a mud fence to living under a rock to fall for anything like this.

Re: Looking for licence plates!

Half of an entire wall of my garbage is covered in Lic. plates I've collected over the years. I probably have 15 states represented.

The holy grail of plates is the polar bear shaped one from the Northwest Territories of Canada. I've been looking for one of those for years.

Re: intermittent clogged toilet

I had a similar problem last winter in my little bunker, after months of fruitless plunging (definition of insanity? Same thing expecting different results) I found the drain pipe below the bathroom (in the crawl space) had tree roots growing right through it. I was literally trying to flush waste t...

A lot of those are amazing. The wine cork car would probably provoke unwanted authoritative attention. The Reese's guy is just plan creepy. The "handy" Honda is awesome. I've thought about using fall leaves to make custom stencil paint job on something. Maybe the 4runner because it's alrea...

Re: what's your SECOND fave car to work on?

The Ford Festiva is the most simple AND reliable car I've personally ever owned (I've owned, bought and sold dozens) simple as dirt design by Mazda, manufactured by Kia before they had a US market share (and thus trying to make a name for themselves) the EFI models (90-93) are best, but I've had goo...

Re: 1992 Camry Wagon

I have a buddy out east with a camry sedan with like 300+K on it and it just keeps going. Most of them I see on CL have 200-300K still running strong. There's something about THAT engine they did right (like the echo. hard to kill) Don't expect stellar MPG's maybe mid-20's if you drive like a grandm...

Just picked up a 1991 all-trac wagon...

I went out to South Dakota to visit a friend cooking at a pheasant hunting lodge. On the way back today I took some back roads (they're ALL back roads in SD) and (to make a long story short) bought and towed home a 1991 Toyota all-trac wagon with a 5spd. 157K, blue, very little rust (they don't' use...

Re: $225,000 for an old VW bus

I had a chance to buy a 23 window with rag top back in the late 90's for around $1500 (if I remember correctly) more than I had at the time) $225K is absolutely insane, but hey, what do I know. I also could have bought a 1969 double-cab running with no rust for around $1500 in the early 00's those a...

Re: Yoopers CL 83 T4wd, super minty in the land of rust

I'll be up in the UP this week, if anyone needs a set of well trained T4wd eyes. I have picture capability too (high tech and all) Someone here should buy it. How about that Canadian fella up in Ont? the UP is one bridge away.

Was VERY surprised to stumble across this tonight. I have a place up near Marquette, I can check it out for someone. 125K. No rust. Wow.

Re: 1984 Tercel SR5 - SoCal Car - Looking for a good home

Beautiful T4wd. If you can, you should find the missing alum. wheel, with a super clean specimen such as this, little things like that really detract from those with the money to afford them.

Good luck with the sale.
