Re: automatic transmission
To me, the only rationale for an AT is if you're driving in continual stop-and-go driving, in city traffic. or having a bad knee, like me. It was, i believe, caused by 10 years continuous city driving - San Diego then Va Beach. After I put 185/70/14 tires on, the rpm's was a lot better. before it f...

As long as the bolt pattern is 4x100 and the hub is bigger than 54.1 you can get hub centric rings to make the wheel fit. http://www.justforwheels.com/hub-centric-rings.jsp these are the wheels I have, but mine are 4x100, the ones in the picture have 5 bolt holes. https://tercel4wd.com/forums/viewto...

Re: another rough starting thread
One thing you might check first is the AAP diaphragm (on the front right corner of the carb, next to the float bowl, it has a vac line that goes to the TVSV). When that leaks it allow fuel to go almost directly into the intake manifold through the vac line. +1 on the AAP diaph- just disconnect the ...

this has been happening since I got the car and has gotten progressively worse, now its really bad. Really hard to start and once i have it started no high idle, rich condition like you wouldnt believe (my neighbors smell gas who are about 200 feet away), but once the temp gauge moves about an 1/8 i...

Re: gas in new filter but no start
she has just a little less room than the tercel. the rear seats fold and tumble and that leaves a lot of flat room. I can put a piece of 8 foot crown molding in the tercel as long as it can bend a little. the same crown molding in the sidekick has to bend a little more for it to fit but not much. ga...

My 2002 VW Cabrio stopped going in reverse (my daughter drives that) and $25...

Havent worked on my car for so long I had forgotten that I had a manual for it...haha And the check verified the pump is pumping fuel and the filter is mostly clean (not enough to...
