I assume you still back out the bottom bolt to allow free oil flow to the back of the transmission?

Re: Won't go into gear after changing transmission oil

Keegan wins this round, lol. Tercle, it sounds like you will need to remove the plug you filled the trans from and shine a light in and use a screwdriver to get the fork in there back into the right spot before putting the plug back in. That should fix it. I always fill from the plug directly behind...

Re: Won't go into gear after changing transmission oil

Is that regardless of whether the car is running or not? If it will go into gear with the engine off but not once the engine is running, it's probably clutch-related. If the problem is there even with the engine off, that's a pickle. Weird that it happened after a gear oil change. Did you notice any...

Many moons ago, my wife surprised me on my birthday with a photo album of a Tercel bikini carwash that a friend shot for her. It was funny and fantastic. What a gift.

Re: What is the most rare T4WD option/accessory?

In some lucky Tercels, the cup holders pulled out from the centre console. I have only seen them in automatics. I think it was in place of the small shelf that normally appears below the single din stereo, but I'm not sure about that. It's been a long time since I've seen one.

Welcome to the forum! Depending on what you're looking for, this forum can be the best place to find answers. Other times (like when looking for parts or fast answers) the Facebook page is better because it's so much more popular. But there is still a handful of devouts who regularly check in here, ...

Re: beginner welding advice?

never ever ever ever ever buy a welder without heat control, even for learning. flux core wire is horrible to work with, and not having a variable heat control will teach bad habits if you are even able to weld to mildly thin steel without blowing a hole straight through it. This actually touches o...

Re: 1995 Toyota tercel

Sorry mate, this forum is for 83-87 4wd Tercel wagons (and the occasional 79-82 1st gen Tercel). I don't think anyone here will have what you're looking for. Have you tried car-part.com though? I have had good luck with that site for used parts over the years.

beginner welding advice?

I'm considering getting an inexpensive welder to do small repairs on the Tercel occasionally, fix horse fence panels for my wife, that sort of thing. Does anyone here have much experience with welding and advice for me? From the reading I've done, it looks like MIG will be best suited to my needs so...

Re: quick "funny noise" question

Hey homie. Is the rattling constant while the car is moving? I might sound paranoid but have you checked the gear oil level lately? Any issues with the CV axles? I've never encountered something like that before but those are the first things I think of.

Re: Mystery Battery Drain

Just to confirm, the battery is brand new? Just wondering if it's an old one you swapped in for testing. It sounds like an old battery not holding charge but if the battery is new it's not that.

I would check the voltage while engine is running to confirm the new alternator is working correctly.
