Re: 1986 Tercel SR5, Western Montana
Thanks Pedros, I wasn't looking for any thanks when I said veterans should be thanked more by they way :) I spilled oil on my timing belt the last time I filled my oil. I wonder if that would cause that deep knocking in the engine. The repair manual says something about oil spills on timing belts ...

Re: 1986 Tercel SR5, Western Montana
My older brother is in too and he says the same thing about the AF. Air Force is by far treats their personnel the best, glad to be a part of it. I'm excited to get going, and thank you for your service. You were the first person to say that other than my recruiter. I think we should thank our ...

Not sure about that yet. I'm going to basic in july. I want ammo or sheet metal, can't remember the specialty codes quite yet. Are you in the AF then?danzo wrote:What's your AFSC/base?

Re: 1986 Tercel SR5, Western Montana
Pedros:
It's got 186k miles, 4WD (of course) EL gear, clutch replaced late last year, new monroe strut cartriges on the front, tires still have plenty of tread. Everything works on it. Pretty much stock, the only thing I've done to it was weld on a quick exhaust after the cat. I think the valve ...

1986 Tercel SR5, Western Montana
Hey everyone, I'm leaving for the Air Force soon and need to get rid of the Tercel. 186k miles, 5 speed, newer tires, new clutch, new front struts. Clean inside. Runs alright, I haven't had much time to check everything out. I'd like to sell it whole for $500 but if anyone needs parts let me know as ...

Re: Engine Swap Question
Petros,
I won't be able to make it on the 15th sadly, lucky for me I get to work all that day. But I think I'm just gonna do the cam and flywheel for now. Sounds like its just that extra something I'm looking for. I haven't had much time to look into price of the delta cam and flywheel. How much did ...

Re: You Might Own A Nostalgic Car If...
#12...The day I got the my Tercel, this girl was riding with me. She kept turning on my A/C on and off, making fun of the little Econo-Air light, opening and closing my sunroof. She slammed the door when she got in, she called it a beater, ugly, a waste of money, then she crawled over my 23 year old ...

North West Meeting?
Is there anyone who would like to try to get something started in the northwestern reigon? Maybe get some off-roading in, talk tercel and share ideas in parking lots? Let me know who is interested, and we can start from there. I'm in Montana, so maybe folks from Oregon, Washington, Northern ...

Re: Engine Swap Question
Wow, thank you. I think I'm going to do the cam grind, flywheel, weber carb, larger exhaust and maybe get my 3AC bored out. I dont know if I really want to fork out the extra cash for higher octane fuel though. I was reading 83toybeater's posts on his 4A-FE swap and that kind of caught my eye. Fuel ...

Re: Engine Swap Question
Thanks for your help and your input. I appreciate it very much. Now I have something to start my research from. Will I really get much more power out the the 4AC? Is it worth the hassle? What would you recommend I do to get more power out of my Tercel? Thanks for your help again.
