Re: The Tercel standard

You're going to have to sell it better than that! One phrase I picked up on technician forums "if you can't afford a new(insert Euro car), you can't afford a used one either". Kinda like what we used to say about Jaguars for years: " You never - but never - want to be the third owner of a Jag! " An...

Re: Odd Coolant Temperature Sensor Occurrence

It has worked as normal since last Friday. If it occurs again, I will first try marlinh's suggestion and then splatterdog's ; Thanks! It just seems odd that it worked fine Tuesday night and then at the next drive, it did not; oh well, I sometimes vary in aches and pains from one day to the next ... ...

Odd Coolant Temperature Sensor Occurrence

The gauge worked fine Tuesday night. Wednesday night, after a mile or two, I noticed it was still sitting on "zero," and heat was beginning to emanate from the vents. :? Now, I am paranoid about keeping a eye on the gauge, as that is how my Beloved Sister fried the head on my '83 in '85 when on an e...

I guess much of my anger at engineers should have been directed at accountants!
YES! The most egregious example was with Ford and the Pinto.

Well, it just now worked for me - it took me to the whole slew of posts you made, beginning on 1 May 2011.
I just copied and pasted your "TVSV and drivability" in the search window.

Re: Larry's 49 Chevy gets a 500 hp LS3

That Generation Chevy coupe was always the best looking of the body styles - even beating the 'vert! I had a good buddie in HS ('58) who had a '51, but with Power Glide - unbelievably slow with that slushbox! He always, but aways, started in Low. I think the early PG had only two gears forward? PROP...

WHAT - PETROS - WROTE ! In spades - I can vouch for that! I taught all three girls to drive. The results? Daughter #1 - drove a stick for many years - always conscientious about maintenance. Buy any thing used from her. Daughter #2 - I gave up on teaching a MT    - " Why is the 'Che...
