Re: 2 X 1987 Tercel 4WD SR5 for $ale, Ontario
So true and if I don't sell my farm or find a decent home I might just finish the project myself and keep em. I'm thinking of an HJ60 landcruiser right now but I could keep the Tercel for the winter/salt season.

Will do B4 the salty winter.takza wrote:Decent looking truck...most of the older Toyota 4x4s around here have rusty frames...they tend to rust from inside out. Best bet is to get some oil sprayed inside the channels.

Just bought a new/old 89 Yota pickup
It was as cheap as Terk, not too much rust, and it's going to be a boon for helping me getting firewood out of the bush. 5spd, 4X4 22RE! So I am retiring one of my Terks. http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a325/jetswim/1989%20pickup/IMG_2435.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a325/jetswim/1989%20p...

Excellent write up Petros! I've always believed the things you write about above but could never articulate it as well as you did.

Re: Does anyone drive a Tercel with automatic transmission?
My automatic 85 Corrolla SR5 used to whip when I put the petal to the metal. It has an overdrive too. I would slam my foot down and the thing just went like no tomorrow. I know different car and it has a 4AC but never had problems with the auto in terms of speed, reliability, and shifting.

At least try to start this way so you know the engine runs.SethM wrote:Thanks. I thought about push starting but I've got about 1000 miles to go.... could get old (and interesting at gas station stops).

What contacts would that be? I mean where?Petros wrote:All of the ones I have seen were always working, no matter the age. Could be corrosion on the contacts?
