Re: Manual Transmission Removal and Re-Installation
How long does this take? Assuming I don't suck, which I do, but I'll recalculate hours accordingly.

I beg to differ. You didn't even have to keep this car moving. That EL gear makes the SR5 shockingly awesome on soft sand. If it only had the HP to haul up a dune...takza wrote:Bet it is stuck in that sand...dry sand and T4WDs don't mix too well. Good buy though.

Maac-over Suggestions / 4wd Decals
Tercel4wd fans. After reviving a dying SR5 for a dunes trip, and seeing it kill the sand...I've opted to pay off some debt and keep the Tercel a while longer. This means I'll be throwing some limited dough at painting, and other various improvements. I once saw a pic of a Tercel with a 4WD decal and...

Re: Losing Power when pedal gets near floor
I'll trace out that damn oil leak at some point here. Pissing me off. Many thanks to Tercel4WD. The SR5 absolutely killed it at Pismo!!! On arrival, my crew (repping a new Wrangler, a 2WD Explorer, and a lifted SX4) was worried whether my car would even make it down the beach. All of their cars had ...

Re: Losing Power when pedal gets near floor
Little vac tube leading to HIC in bottom of air cleaner housing hooked up? This usually causes idling probs, but it could under load as well - unsure about this, though. Tom M. Also check the vac line under the air filter is connected properly or it will cause big vac leak. Nailed it. Hose seemed v...

Losing Power when pedal gets near floor
Replaced the valve cover gasket recently (requiring me to move the air box) Since then, the engine loses power when I depress the gas pedal more than 75% to the floor. It runs fine until that point, but once I put the pedal on the floor the revs fall and engine sounds similar to a rough idle. For in...

Re: Heater / Wiper Nut / Electrical Short
Thanks for the quick replies guys! Wiper Nut: My local junkyards don't have any tercels before 1986. Autozone does not have the nut, and the old dude who is usually knowledgeable had never seen one. Heater: Due to the electrical issues this will take a bit of time to get to. I'll check the duct, adj...

Re: Busted Alternator?? Lights/radio flicker
UPDATE: Thanks for the help guys. I replaced the battery and the car started running fine. But occasionally the battery light and brake light would flicker on and off. This lasted about a week, then after leaving the car for 10 minutes it wouldn't start up. I was going to replace the alternator but ...

Busted Alternator?? Lights/radio flicker
Hey Guys, Bought an 84 6 months ago and it has been running great until now. Here's the symptoms: 2 weeks ago I left the lights on and the battery died. Had it recharged at Autozone and it kept running. Yesterday i went to start 'er up and again the battery was dead. Not my fault this time. Jumped i...

Blue Plaid Rear Seat
Just bought an 84 sr5 wagon with the backseat removed. What is the potential of me finding the matching blue plaid backseat at a local junkyard. Located in the San Diego Area. Any other suggestions? Would be interested in what other backseats will fit the wagon (both from Toyotas and other makes). I...
