Re: hesitation w/ fast idle cam step

o... should have said things more clearly
i was actually referring to the gas pedal, not the brakes
takza wrote:Vacuum leak....that the draw from the brake booster adds to?? Sometimes a shot of WD40 into the place the vac hose goes on a booster will eventually free up that valve in there?

Re: hesitation w/ fast idle cam step

ok.. more thinking when there is hesitation, stepping harder on the pedal would stall the car (this has happened when i am trying to make quick left hand turns in traffic) it FEELs like a lean stall to me however, AAP diaphragm should be giving extra shot of fuel... which is what i don't quite under...

Re: hesitation w/ fast idle cam step

yes i am in the process of finding a part that can be mounted to the mouth of the carb that is also the thickness of a drill bit :P Maybe too much choke? To get the cam to step down, you have to give it some gas. Accelerator pump squirt on top of a too rich choke could be causing your stumble. The F...

Re: hesitation w/ fast idle cam step

thanks for the reply guys and thx to admin for relocating the thread :D um, i've been doing some thinking trying to break down the procedure on how the fast idle cam steps down so first the spring in the electric housing is heated up by the current and begins to turn when i blip the throttle, which ...

Re: hesitation w/ fast idle cam step

whoops, i just realized i started the thread in the wrong section, my bad anyhow, it was by doing the vacuum leak check that I found out that the choke breaker was bad if the choke plate was out of sync, why would I only feel hesitation the moment the cam is stepping down? there is no stumble any ot...

hesitation w/ fast idle cam step

hi all, it's been a while since i posted i had a good summer driving my car around despite those gas prices :P as the weather's getting colder i'm starting to get those hesitations back in last winter. I've narrowed it down to a lean-hesitation (sometimes stalling) when accelerating with engine cold...

Re: WTB: choke pull-off/ breaker

hey thanks petros
i'm going to be pretty busy with school and family this whole summer
but i'll see if i can spare a day or 2

in the meantime i put a paper clip on the mouth of the carb to keep the choke slightly open
not the perfect fix but gets the car running in the mornings 8)

Re: running rich all of a sudden

i've been running 87 from shell the past week,
haven't had a problem yet.

and yeah, the weather's gotten warmer than when i had the problem
don't think it would be the carbon canister although i wouldn't mind checking the FSM just for the heck of it :)

Re: running rich all of a sudden

well, today i took the car on the highway and drove it all the way to white rock and u know what, the problem just dissapeared no starting or running problems whatsoever i guess i need to attribute this to a severe case of bad gas (mixed superstore 87octane with husky 90octane) have to say it's the ...

Re: want to buy: TVSV

yes i have thought about having the "tee" arrangement with the remaining good port on the filter my vacuum lines i have are not long enough, gotta grab some from lordco performance wise, only problem i've noticed so far is that the speedometer wobbles at speeds below 50km/h, works fine at ...
