Re: unhappy with 80w-90 gear oil
TBH i stopped using redline oil, too many coincidental damages after using but people seemed pretty hell bent on it. Not getting into a pissing match about everything else you wrote.

Re: unhappy with 80w-90 gear oil
Redline MT-90 would be your best bet as it is designed for a fwd manual transmission requiring gear oil, if in doubt e-mail redline with your questions they usually get back in 2-3 days. If your lucky enough to still have an owners manual, it says in it to use a gl-4 or 5 oil (i guess gl3 was still ...

Re: Larry's tercel gets a 20v Black Top
wow, haven't been on here in awhile, i was just thinking last night about how cool it would have been to do a 20V swap on my tercel when i had it, I did the 4AC swap, which was a little anti-climactic. really cool that you kept power steering and A/C, and i'm surprised the corolla clutch fit, i reme...

Re: Differentials
phantom grip is your best bet, they have an application for a AE-86 corolla SR-5 with the 4A-C which should work perfectly for both front and rear diffs of a tercel.

Re: Front Unibody Lift Kit
I think it would be pretty easy to do, but there are lots of little things to take into account which you've already thought of. IIRC the engine mounts to the front sub frame, I would just shim the subframe down, do the same with the transmission mounts, the front control arms being moved down would...

Re: Tranny thought
i thought about the same thing, there is store here in canada called princess auto, they sell hydralic fittings, hoses, filter adapters and donaldson filters. I thought about adding a filteration system to my tranny, but i never bothered. 80W90's Viscosity index is only slightly higher than 10W30. E...

Re: alternator options
stock alternator is only 55 amps, take a look in the fuse box and it doesn't take long to add up 55 amps in fuses. headlights, wipers, radio, blower motor and rear defogger and your already at its maximum capacity. add a set of fog lights and you'll kill it. I killed my alternator (burnt out the dio...

I beleive it is the same as the front, i never measured though, but i have removed both the front and rear differentials from my tercel.
