I did a lift a while back with those same dimensions in mind and all for under 20 bucks. I simply went to the junkyard and found the two top strut mounts and two front spring perchs off of an identical chasis. I removed the front perchs from the my car and welded the new ones directly on top, theref...

I wish I could do the same mainly because then I would never have to smog it again, which is why it currently isn't being used. Looks like too much hassle from what I can tell and I'm going to try for a diesel truck instead, especially if the state is still giving 1000 bucks to junk your smog violat...

Well I disconnected the vacuum advance and it still has the problem, so it's not related to that. All the vacuum lines are routed properly using new tubes, so no leaks are present. So either something that controls the vacuum (like those S/W vacuum switches) or something else electrical must be mess...

Yeah it took me quite a while to figure it out and it was one of the more intimidating things on the car, but after being forced to fix it for smog, I've learned alot. It seems as the distributor advance and EGR are linked so they both don't fully operate until the engine warms up and the TVSV allow...

Here's what I did. I jacked the front up and crawled underneath, undoing all the front transmission bolts first and pulling the front CVs. Then, underneath the car, I placed a jack with a board on top to support the transmission without damaging it. I jacked it up to take the weight off and then unb...

Try http://www.photobucket.com , it's a free picture hosting site but you are limited to 250kb per picture. It will automatically resize to fit though if it's over that. It's really easy to sign up, in fact I just did this morning to post my vacuum diagram in the repair forum. Hope it actually shows...

I made this in photoshop to help make the vacuum wiring in our car a bit easier. It's hard to follow the one from the manual because the rails all seem to mesh together and you have to follow them by hand, and even then it's easy to accidently be one line over. This may not work for everyone since t...

I know this post is really old, but thought I'd ad my input. The small, plastic, joke of a guard they put under the transmission from the factory broke immediately and decided something had to be done to protect that expensive transmission. I had just gotten my welder, so went to work with some squa...

You know, now that you mention it, we just got the EGR all cleaned and working in our attempt to pass smog. Maybe now that it is working, it's causing this. The weird thing is that it doesn't just run crappy through that power range, it full on stops as if you took your foot suddenly off the gas and...

Now that we have all the vacuum lines hooked up correctly without leaks or problems, the car runs great! However, one problem is left that we experienced before. The car seems to experience extreme hesitation at partial throttle in second gear all the time, and first gear some of the time. It always...

It's relatively cut and paste in terms of tuning. The only problem might be the extra emissions stuff. Just take a look at the vacuum diagrams under the hood and see what pieces are different. It shouldn't be much, if any. Most likely, the carbs will be identical with the only extra emissions stuff ...

I found the post on the EGR valve, but not on passing emissions. I'm pretty sure it works from what everything I've read tells me so far. The car runs like crap compared to how it ran before we got it working. I'll be disabling it as soon as we pass, if we do. Our numbers were 3000 for NOx when max ...
