Re: Need Nissan Stanza Wagon Transmission

I guess you mean the T4 by al25. i forget what its official body number is but i just call it the T4... but yeah. The Stanza, even though iv not driven it much seems to be similar but different to the Tercel in various ways. Its definitely been a lot more difficult to work on...than even my VWs and ...

Re: Need Nissan Stanza Wagon Transmission

Actually i think i may have meant the Subaru GL/DL...was thinking of the one with the 2 speed transfer case and all the extras...but i still want the quad headlights off of a DL wich i think were only on lower models? Heres the Automatic Tercel that i restored/painted a few years ago, along with the...

Need Nissan Stanza Wagon Transmission

This has been an ongoing PITA, but still a fun project and i consider it a sister vehicle to the Tercel, and my goal is to collect and preserve and upgrade all of the 80s wagons that i like...except the Civic wagon which i dislike.. also on the wanted list is a volvo 740 diesel and a subaru 4x4 Loya...

Re: Is the Automatic T4 worth it?

Re: The Air Conditioning thread...

Id say the clutch moving is normal...its like a regular clutch in anything else there may be some trivial contact/friction going on, especially if its new and not worn in yet. the A/C system in the T4 i believe has a controller that shuts the compressor off at 2 different temps...a lower one for ON ...

Re: The Air Conditioning thread...

FYI also, Most of these compressors, swash-plate and piston designs can ingest some liquid refrigerant without issue. Scroll compressors i think are more sensitive.

Re: The Air Conditioning thread...

Mine is still apart and i dont have a functioning Tercel presently...the A/C in the automatic that i rebuilt the compressor in, blew out the generic Large Chinese O rings i used on the compressor body within 1 trip.. the brakes need to be redone also and why it was parked. but i think the front seal...

Re: LSD Solution

my car is 95% driven on pavement so my first instinct is to keep it open...i have an Isuzu Trooper im planning to turn into the Safari truck..as well as an F350 dually diesel. Put synthetic lube in it and leave it alone..

Re: LSD Solution

How about one from an ATV/4wheeler..?maybe a more compact one from a smaller vehicle would be easy to modify..or maybe other alternatives nobody thought of..? AE86 corolla rear end swap? were our rear axles used in any other vehicle or based off of something else that might have a more common LSD or...

Re: Unidentified Problem.

Maybe the vibrating is F*King with the carb float...my car would hesitate and stall for no reason whatsoever only at one specific intersection on a specific road...everywhere else largely fine..i think it had something to do with the road geometry of gentle S turns right before a stop making the flo...
