Well awesome... I appreciate it. You have to remove the steering wheel and the plastic over the column. The photo is of the backside of the assembly for the lights turn signals, dimmer etc. I had the idea to go look at one so I called three junk yards here to see if they had a Tercel but no luck.

Thank you for this website!! Especially the pdf of the service manual. (Haynes books have much to be desired..) My 86 Tercel is still all stock and I'm s l o w l y.. restoring it. Has faded but original paint and one minor dent and one small tear in the seat. It I bought it from the original owners ...
