Re: Newbie from the Philippines!
Aha! Another Tercel owner in the Philippines. Hope I can see your car in the flesh! The car has not been with me for the past 5 years unfortunately, but you can still see it around the Quezon City area being driven probably with its fifth owner. :) I have also seen another wagon in the area but wit...

Re: toyota starlet, ever heard of it?
Here in the Philippines, Starlets or KP's as they call them have a renewed cult following among old schoolers. Starlets were released here in 1980 with 1.2 liter engines. Now they are being refitted with powerful 2TG, 3TG, 4Age and other performance engines sourced as surplus from Japan. Some borrow...

Re: My Tercel "Makeover"
Looks good! I daresay the rest of us will never endure a dent caused by a coconut! For that matter - a fender repaired and repainted for $60... Tom M. Thanks Sir. Actually, that errant coconut just bounced off a canopy before landing on the fender and fortunately exposed a previous bad paint job! :...

Re: My Tercel "Makeover"
After some major considerations, i let go of 'OLd TRusty' the pet name of my T4wd. Had to look for a taller vehicle to ease the ingress and egress of my dad(he is having mobility problems and the weekly hospital visits have become an issue). I love Old Trusty and hoped that it would be a 'keeper' un...

Re: My Tercel "Makeover"
Hi, Will. I think it is an aftermarket accessory in the U.S. except for the craft store foam lettering in front which i custom made.wmschaefer wrote:Is the wide rear-view mirror custom, or were these available in some locales?

My Tercel "Makeover"
After a series of uninspiring events heaped upon my Tercel, i was able to fund its aesthetic "Makeover" finally in time for a local 'Old School' meet. The issue on my cracked windshield. http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm215/jemiel_photos/da51ef5b.jpg Was able to have it replaced costin...

A Japanese made Clinometer for my T4WD
Bought this for around $8 at a recent swapmeet. A Clinometer made in Japan, still in brand new condition but the box is really shabby. http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm215/jemiel_photos/000_0023_00.jpg How it looks outside the box: http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm215/jemiel_photos/000_0022_...

Re: Does anyone drive a Tercel with automatic transmission?
Mines is an auto. It sometimes has a jerky downshift when it gets hot, otherwise it upshifts just fine. Engine really becomes whiny at high speeds. Convenient in the usual heavy traffic around the metropolis though.

Re: 185 70R 14s fit fine
Actually, i had similar tires 185/65 profiles up front but they blew up in a span of 2 months(Lemon Dunlops). It is just a temporary set-up and buying a new pair is just not my priority right now. Anyways, i really rarely use my 4WD because i live in the city with the exception of a few steep and we...
