4WD wagon for sale in Vancouver, BC

Well, regrettably, we're letting the turtle go. It's been replaced by an '01 subie brighton wagon.
The body on the turtle is quite good. Rockers, floors, rear 1/4's are rust free, it's just starting to rust around the front wheels wells. No water leaks anywhere, runs great, lot's of work done to it ...

Don't know about your '86 4WD, but in my '87 2WD the back seats bottom part is hinged at the front and pulls up from the back, ending up straight up and tight against the back of the front seats. Then when the two back seat upright parts are let down it ends up as a perfectly flat area - good for a ...

Right, I just went and yanked the seat bottom out and ya, it'd have to be built up a bit, but I like it better than with the seat bottom in. It's just too angled to be comfortable, I think.
we'll have to try it both ways to be sure, sure a lot of room when the front seats are slid all the way ...

Congrats on the excursion! We have an '86 4WD and lately I've been thinking about VW westy's for camping, but after hearing that you sleep in the back of your wagon I'm thinking "why can't we do that"? Both of us are smallish at 5'5" and have sat in the back with the seats down having coffee in the ...

We regularly drive ours through some pretty high passes here in BC, and I've never found our wagon to run any worse.

I fixed the problem by having four new Toyo ultra 800 all seasons installed just before xmas. Great tires and now shifting out of 4wd is no problem. So it was due to having different sets of tires on front and back. Having four of the same, but worn different can cause the problem as well, so ...

Actually the thing doesn't pop out of gear immediately after letting out the clutch. Seems to be more rev related, anything above 2000 rpm or so seems to make it pop out when slowing down. I don't really use the engine to brake much. Brake pads are cheaper than drivetrain wear...
And that clunking ...

Hey, can anyone tell me how I can upload a small jpg to use as an avatar? I try from "my control" but keep getting an error. The pic I'm using is only 14kb or so...

It's not too bad, it doesn't pop out if the revs aren't very high when shifting down into 2nd. I'm quite good at holding the shifter in place when gearing down :P

I would be definitely interested in putting 14's on, especially if the rims I find are lighter than the stock steels I have now. Losing some additional wheel weight can only be a good thing on these low powered cars.

Hi all, another little problem we've had ever since owning the turtle is that it pops out of 2nd when decelerating. My brother's '87 4wd wagon does it as well.
Is there a detent or something worn in the tranny, or could it be shifter related?

Thansk for the tips!
The tires are two different pairs, so that could be part of the problem. I will try the other recommendations. And I am looking at buying four new tires. Any recommends on good all seasons? I would consider going to 14" rims and a lower profile tire.
