Re: '84 SR5 in Belleville IL
or if it has the inclinometer on the dash.....that'd be a dead give-a-way. i emailed the guy, and he said since he'd had no takers on it he was going to enter it in a compact demolition derby....such a waste for a 150K mile car. i've emailed him back to see if it's too late or not.....at that price ...

Re: '84 SR5 in Belleville IL
Arch,
did you pull the trigger on this one ?? am i right that the '84s didn't have the high mounted stop lamp ?? i know my '86 has one, but my '85 didn't before I installed one out of a junkyard car.....of course, somebody else could have done the same thing.

Re: For MootsMan & Other Cyclists
haha!! that's great ! I wonder where it was taken. My wife and I were in Guanghou, China in 1993.....you would not believe what you see folks hauling on bikes. That was before I was seriously into riding, but I wish I'd have taken some pictures....esp. of the guy hauling a washing machine and dryer ...

Re: Need Rear Hatch Glass for Wagon
yep, I've replaced a couple in my wagons......weedeaters LOVE picking up small gravels and slinging them at horrific speeds into various car windows. The rear hatch window is really easy to replace....just be patient and work slowly to get it in place, and make sure your gasket is in good shape. Min...

Re: Voltage Drop and headlight performance
About a year ago, I went through 2 sets of Silverstars......something was blowing out the high beam. Found out it was a faulty alternator. Installed a new AZ unit, new headlights, and (knock on wood) all seems good so far !

Re: Want to Buy: '84-86 Tercel 4WD Wagon
TercelMonkey, there's an '85 for sale here in middle TN, he's posted here on the site under NoFace, i think. I haven't seen it personally, but have talked with him and it sounds like a decent car. Search the postings and you'll find it , or here's the Craigslist link: http://nashville.craigslist.org...

Re: New wheels and seats for my Tercel
I've used those same wheels on mine for a while, and they do look good. I currently have a set of 8 spoke MR2 wheels....not sure which model they came from, or if they're aftermarket, but the centercaps have "MR2" embossed into them. ON another note....does anyone know how 97 Ford Contour ...

Re: Aussie friends OK?
Although they do add into the total loss suffered by folks from fires such as this, buildings and cars are not the "important" things that are destroyed.....houses can be re-built, and cars can be replaced. My heart goes out to the families of those who lost their lives.......and for those...

Re: '88 DLX eBay Paducah, KY
For several of us here on the forums, if the car had the science fish on it THAT would be the first thing to go. As a rule, we do a pretty good job of keeping our religious feelings or lack thereof to ourselves.....I think the forums run better if we keep comments like this to a minimum and stick to...

Re: Differentials
I've been running an '83 transmission in my '86 wagon for a couple of years now, and have never had a problem, other than the speedometer being off, but that is partially due to 14" wheels and tires, too. That being said, I don't do any heavy 4-wheeling at all....only time I will use 4wd is in ...

Re: Anyone willing to part with a tranny?
hope you get a good one !! i'm curious how many of these cars are around your area. we took my son to a cross country camp in Boone at Appalacian State back when he was in high school, and saw a few in that area. I would think up in the mountains there'd be more of them than in a place like Nashville.

Re: Anyone willing to part with a tranny?
Have you tried a junk yard, more particularly the pull your own parts variety ?? I know there is a Pull-A-Part in Knoxville, and I believe there's one in Charlotte, also. I've probably pulled 4-5 trannies from there, all I have to do now is get around to rebuilding them. The one in my '86 now is fro...
