I have a 1984 Toyota Tercel 4wd Wagon. 6-speed (compound low in 4WD). Runs good, good tires, xtra set of studded snow tires on wheels. 202,000 miles. New Stereo, CD with Ipod hookup and remote control.

New rear wheel bearings about 7000 miles or 9 months ago. New front half axles about 4000 miles ...

So I am looking to raise up my tercel a bit, should I go with a lift kit of sorts or should I just go with larger wheels / tires ? If wheels & tires how large can I go?

I need a rear bumper for an 84 trecel.

Anybody know where i might find one?

Ok so I am ready to order the 2 new axles and get to work. Are there any other parts i should be replacing at the same time.

Wow, thanks everybody for all the great advice. I will certainly go thought the axles, cv joints, etc. right away.

As I mentioned I had a mechanic tell me that it was the transfer case which did not make sense to me.

1. If I do NOT have in 4wd when I go around a corner with the clutch engaged I get a knocking sounds from the front end. The goes away when I have it in 4wd.
