Anyone collect tranny parts

I have Two bad trannys in my yard one 4.1 with no 5th gear and one 3.7 with no foward gears. Both have good diffs. I can return one to pick&pull for core charge but I thought I would give everyone here a chance for parts.There free if you want them. located in reno nv.

those are worth saving, even broken. the 5th gear is an easy fix, you just split the front bell housing off the main case and the 5th gear is exposed and easy to replace with a gear puller and circlip pliers. You might even be able to take the fifth gear out of the one with the bad gear cluster and use it on the one with the bad 5th gear.

I would take them if you were nearby, but not sure shipping cost and trouble is were it. I would pull off the front diff on the 3.7 and keep it, take the rest of the case and gear cluster back as a core. I would save the 4.1 complete, and even consider fixing it.

Sounds like a plan I will keep the 4.1 and pull diff and pinion off the 3.7 maby 5th gear to. The 4.1 with 5th gear off the 3.7 will still be there for a member in need.

I don't know anyone but if you guys up north know anyone that goes to burning man its next month they all stock up for supplys in reno.

David lucas Barns (member DLB) makes the annual pilgrimage to Burning Man every year. Perhaps he can pick them up.

i know some but no one who'd be up for hauling tercel parts back. they all have u-hauls already way overweight with all their supplies and art projects. sorry.
