Re: Miles
you need to qualfiy that, conditions and care make all the difference. I have seen them run well over 500k miles, and I have seen them ruined in less than 100k. Without care they will not last long.

Re: Miles
That is very true petros. I should have included that in my post. However Im not one to keep up on tip top maintenance, it happens when money allows. That, and knowing how everything works in the car, and exactly what kind of condition what parts are in, allow me to get the most miles out of every part before they present a safety or mechanical hazard. With that being said, let me caution you that doesnt work as well with tires. >.<

Love those Tercell 4x4 wagons but they sure suffer from road noise.

Re: Miles
I have one that had zero maintenance done to it with 225k and after some love she is fine, and one with love and care shown to it with well over 400k on it, works fine.

Re: Miles
I suspect with typical maintenance, not necessarily being diligent or even following the owners manual schedule, they ares have a practical design life of about 200k miles before needing heavy maintainable. With care they last up to twice that long with normal replacement parts. Of course if you are willing to do heavy maintenance and major repairs, they can be made to last indefinitely, as long as replacement parts are available.

Re: Miles
Mine currently has 234,000 miles on the body. It appears that someone swapped in a new engine into mine, so who knows the actual mileage on the motor.

Re: Miles
My wagons' mileage stands between somewhere around 170k-268k miles. I have seen an automatic Tercel 4WD at the junkyard with 315k miles on the odometer and what seemed to be a JDM 3A-SCV engine, so the transmission outlasted the engine!
