I have to say though - I would not at all be surprised if the winning bidder flakes out after realizing that they are paying almost as much for this car 27 years later later as it was new. I get that it's probably in the top .01% of these models, but damn that's a lot of money for a noisy carbureted '80s econobox.
Then again, this shows what cult cars are capable of fetching given the right marketing exposure...

Hey guys--im the owner of the 37k tercel on ebay---I assure u all the bids are legitimate as far as i know-I have no idea who is bidding----fake bids would take all the fun out of it for me--besides i think is like illegal to do that-I really appreciate all the interest----this little car had been sheltered in a garage its whole life. You cant even detect a worn spot on the factory drivers floor mat. Its truly how its described in the text. Again thanks for you interest guys!

dale, you're going to be a celebrity in these parts. can you tell us the story of the car? who owned it, where did they drive it, why does it have so few miles on it, why has it come up for sale, etc. spare no detail, as there are lots of curious cats here.
Re: '84 SR5 eBay > INCREDIBLE CONDITION ! 37K MILES! <
Im at work now ---i can tell more later----the sale ends tonight---Ill try later to give u more of the history later---thanks

David,
All that info is on the ebay listing I think, or on the bring-a-trailer site. IT is quite a story, and I would say a car like that is quite a find.

Oh by the way ---the hood ornament is factory original---that "T" logo was their original symbol I think---you will probably see it on an old Crown or Cressida---Thanks! The current logo came out much later.

my bad. i guess i only looked at the photos on the ebay listing and then bitterly left the page. to find something like that terc sitting in your neighbor's garage would be something else.
good luck in the final hours of the auction, dale!

dlb - XLNT idea!
If this went for $10K+, then mine with almost exactly 5 X the mileage should go for $2K+ - at a minimum.
I'm gonna start locking Goldie!
23 (!) bidders - the winner and runner-up have some feedback (they came in at the last minute) and -
over 7000 unique views! The number of unique views is certainly a close second to the price.
While this was certainly an exceptional car, regardless of the brand - it will be interesting to see what bidding on future T4WDs - and 2WDs, for that matter - will be like...

P.S. Without revealing your bid - did anyone from here bid on the car?

Did anyone watch the final hour of bidding on ebay? I'm on a roadtrip and couldn't access the web until now. I'm not suprised at the selling price. Drive the little Tercel for ten years and you have a great reliable car for $1000.00 per year

Hi fellas-
Wow, what a great find.
I wonder if the new owner would sell it. It's precisely what I'd like to buy; a pristine example with the blue plaid interior color palette.
If he shows up around these parts, can someone please let me know?
Thanks guys.
